Albergo elegante ma direzione e personale non all'altezza di un albergo 5 stelle. Abbiamo riservato due notti ma a seguito di un malore e così consigliati dal servizio medico del pronto soccorso abbiamo dovuto lasciare l'albergo dopo nemmeno un ora. Ci hanno fatto pagare le due notti e persino la tassa di soggiorno pur non avendo pernottato nemmeno una notte. Attendiamo ancora oggi una risposta al nostro scritto alla direzione. Scandaloso per un albergo 5 stelle! Peccato per l'immagine di Stresa.

Der Vorteil ist hier die Nähe zum Schiffsanleger und fussläufigkeit in die Altstadt. Wir hatten ein geräumiges Zimmer mit Blick auf den See inkl. Inseln. Poolanlage ist großzügig angelegt mit vielen Liegen und Sonnenschirmen. Auch die Tiefgarage hat schöne große Stellplätze. Das Frühstück ist allerdings ausbaufähiger. Brot nicht immer frisch und leider nur abgepackte Konfitüre. Der Aufschnitt mit Käse war OK. Das Rührei aus TetraPack. Am besten sitzt man zum Frühstück auf der Terrasse, da dort etwas ruhiger. Beim TV gibt es nur 4 deutsche Programme. Das Personal am Desk sehr nett. Da war immer unterwegs waren, hat uns das Hotel ausgereicht.

This hotel advertises itself as a 4 star hotel. It is far from it. The rooms and the beds feel like they haven’t been updated since 1900. There is no guide in the room for the hotel: no phone numbers for reception or room service. They are non- existent. As are their services. I went down to the bar directly to get a bucket of ice, as there is no room service available. Apparently, there is no such thing here. I was given a bowl of ice cubes. The room temperature was over 85F upon arrival. The AC simply wasn’t working. When I went to reception to sort it out,(because there is no one to call), someone was sent up and assured us it was working. After 10 hours and the sun setting, it finally started working. The shower was good and worked well. The shower towels were little more than thin, worn, rags. No washcloths in the bathroom. No luggage racks in the hotel. Luggage sits in antique furniture. Clothing is hung in the closet on “Can’t steal me” hangers. Would I stay here again? Absolutely f##}}#{#%% no. There are far too many other choices. Steer clear if you want a 4 star hotel. This is definitely not it.

The hotel is in a fabulous location directly opposite the lake. From the outside it looks a little dated, but it is keeping in character with its charm. Most of the public rooms are in nice order and well maintained. We found the lifts to be very dated and inadequate for the amount of people, they are far too slow to come when called and don’t feel overly safe either. Our room was relatively clean, a little on the small side and in major need of a refurbishment, particularly the bathroom. We all did enjoy our 4 nights here, but most definitely past it’s best.

What an absolutely fantastic place to stay at the end of 14 day tour through Italy. Opulent and majestic, it will take your breath away as you enter. Staff was fantastic! Our room was huge, including the bathroom. We swam in the indoor pool for over an hour and it was a great way to unwind. The view from our hotel was stunning. If you want to revel and relax in luxury, this is the place.

I felt like a Princess in this gorgeous hotel! Sure, the rooms are smaller than those in American hotels. But the ornate furniture, magnificent view of the lake from the front terrace, and the exquisite brunch with an endless variety of brioches and charcuterie left me feeling extremely pampered. Front desk even gave me a map of Stresa when I expressed concern about getting lost!
