This was our 4th year staying at the Masthead and we already want to book again for next year! Spent the weekend in cabin 35! 3 bedrooms and sofa pull out! Beds comfortable, view is amazing and a short walk to everything but far enough away to not be kept awake by the people celebrating! I will see you’all next summer!

The Masthead is a gem of a resort! John (owner), Karen L. and the entire staff always ensure that each stay is enjoyable. The texting system is a great way to reach the front desk and they are always very quick to respond and help with anything needed. I am grateful to have found this property a few years ago and I have been back several times since then along with family and friends. The rooms are all tastefully decorated. The amazing deck, proximity to the water and lavish grounds make this the perfect place to stay and relax, unwind and start the day by seeing a sunrise ( which I did this morning). It is a short distance into town which makes for a great walk! Thank you John, Karen L and staff for making this my “home away from home”. I already have another reservation scheduled and planning several more!!

Unique, beautiful. Located right on the water with wide, unobstructed views of the harbor and the Ocean. Grounds are private, peaceful and finely manicured. Situated in a quite, elegant neighborhood, and close enough to restaurants and shopping. (about a 10 minute walk). Friendly, helpful staff. So relaxing that once you arrive, you don't want to go anywhere else.

Our unit’s kitchen was extremely dated and though I didn’t intend to spend much time watching tv, I still would have preferred not watching shows on something so unbelievably small (maybe 38 inches in diameter) in such a large living room - with a SPECTACULAR view of the water - but also a large living room devoid of a coffee table, which I did actually find annoying. But those are easily overlooked by the value, charm and view in this very pleasant cottage which my GF and I both liked very much

Love this place. Not fancy but very clean and quiet and you can’t beat the location. Loved having a kitchen and being able to walk everywhere. The manager, Karen, is very nice and accommodating. Beds are comfy and we had a huge picture window overlooking the water.

The Masthead is the perfect combination of authentic old New England with modern service and finishes. We felt so at home and would have moved right in if we could have! Cannot recommend enough. Thank you so much Masthead!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to returning. We stayed in one of the waterfront suites and the room was spacious, cozy and had an amazing view of the water. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and looking out onto the bay. The property was very quiet although there were several other guests there at the time. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchenette had good quality appliances including a coffee maker, toaster and microwave. We received text messages from the office regarding our stay and were able to text if we needed anything. Overall, a wonderful, restful experience!

Place is spotless, and we really appreciate this. You cannot beat the view, direct ocean on two sides! However, the beds are very uncomfortable and the huge easy chair in the living room is broken so you can’t use it. It should be removed because it takes up so much space also leave more dishwashing supplies, like sponges and scrubby.Need more blankets.
