Hotel Trojka

This hotel is ok, with a clean and ok room with a modern bath. It is best for people coming with their own cars as it a around 2km from the city centre and the railway. You depend on taxis but they are available and not expensive. Though the hotel has a restaurant they only serve breakfast. And you have to go downtown to find one. Again taxi. But not many alternatives in the town.

The town of Przemysl is not too far from the Ukrainian border, and only about an hour or so from the larger Polish city of Rzeszów and its airport. The town itself is fairly industrial in parts, but does have an old town centre which is both charming and full of history. Despite that, it doesn't seem to be on a well-worn tourist path, and so hotels aren't overly abundant. The Hotel Trojka is not in the historical centre, but a bit further out (on the main road out to the nearby Ukrainian border). But it's not inconvenient. The train station is a few minutes in a taxi, or about twenty minutes or so on foot. Many of the town's good restaurants and sites of interest a little further, but it's all doable. The hotel itself has plenty of parking, which is good for those driving. From my window I could see flats and housing, but it was a quiet area and I was able to sleep well. The decor was not to my taste, as it felt quite old-fashioned. However, it was very clean, so no complaints on that front. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. There was no fridge, so hard to bring in drinks/snacks etc and keep them cold (and there was a large Lidl about five minutes walk from the hotel). It appears that the Reception did sell some drinks, if you did want something cold. There was a small television, but I could not find international channels (if that's important for you). I guess that didn't matter, as there was WiFi so you could always watch Netflix or something like that. Breakfast was plentiful, and there was a reasonable variety of things (given the size of the hotel). Mostly cold cuts, breads, cheeses and local delicacies, but they also cooked eggs and sausages to order (both of which I enjoyed). Without exception, the staff were excellent. Very friendly, keen to help and welcoming (providing maps and suggestions etc). Would we stay here again if ever in this part of Poland? I'd say yes. It's not the most modern of places, but it was clean, spacious and had good staff.

I got to this hotel around 9:30pm. I was extremely tired. I had been on the road 22 hours and taken 3 flights. I was relieved when I got to the hotel that there was no one else at check-in. For some reason check-in took forever. In the middle a woman came in and he started to help her without having finished checking me in. Finally after about 40 minutes I got the key and went to the room. The door was open and dirty sheets were on the floor. I had to go back down to the desk and change rooms. In all the checkin process took an hour. The next morning I checked out and the person then at reception said they had heard about the problem I had checking in. He said the would be pleased to offer me a 50% discount on my next stay! What a joke. And this is the number 1 rated hotel on Trip Advisor in Przemysl.

The hotel may be cool, but the manager of the facility is a hustler. I made the reservation via Booking. After the arrival of guests, the gentleman did not take into account the existing reservation and set up a new one, and then issued a second invoice. Fortunately, there are many other honest ones in Przemyśl: Podzamcze PTTK, Spa Gloria, Villa Sanriver...
