Apartamentos Tisalaya

This is one of the best value for money hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful views, friendly staff, basic but well equipped apartments. I will definitely be staying again.

We have recently returned from a holiday staying in the Tisalaya apartments. We received a warm and friendly welcome. The apartment on the ground floor, was spacious, clean and the kitchen had everything needed if you wanted to cook. Also two sun beds for our use. The beds were comfortable, plenty of storage for clothes and a hair dryer. We did pay €15 for the safe which we were quite happy to do. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at the apartments last week. We found the apartments very clean and basic. The apartments are in need of modernisation. The bedding sheets were very tired looking as well as the curtains. If the soft furnishings were updated it would make the rooms look so much better. The maids don’t come to your rooms daily. The rooms don’t have air conditioning so in the warmer months I could see it would be a tad warm. The sun loungers are well used and in need of replacing. We did manage to get 2 whenever we went around the pool. The pool area is very clean with lots of space. The pool is not heated and there is no pool bar! Saying all that….you can’t fault the staff, they are all very friendly. The lady in reception was lovely and very helpful. We stayed in room 210 which had a great view of the pool area and views of the sea and the mountains behind. It was a 5 minute walk to the main ***** in Puerto del Carmen.

Good small hotel with moderate-sized pool and Gym and very welcoming receptionist Paula. Pros: very good quality beds and good all-wooden furniture. Excellent sea-view, good allocated parking, lots of towels given (but not the big beach towels). To improve: unusable frying pan which was strongly scratched since no wooden spatula was provided. No tea cups, only small coffee cups. A lot of smoking neighbors created horrible smell on the balcony. Please, host smoking and non-smoking guests in different wings of the hotel!!! Another issue is absence of mosquito nets in the bathroom ventilation! Even in winter, mosquitos got through the bathroom ventilation into the room and bit our kids.

Room 220 needs a good revamp cracked floor tiles,Microwave faulty but replaced promptly and shower wouldn't stay in the holder Windows very dirty but we found out why on departure day the cleaner used a dirty mop

Just about to leave after a wonderful week here. The appartements are 2* and are very basic and dated but immaculately clean. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has all the basics to make breakfasts and snacks. What sets this place apart is the staff ! amazing people can’t do enough for you . The reception staff are so helpful offering tips and advice booking taxis etc .The cleaning ladies are happy to help and will give you life toilet roll etc whatever you need. It is quite a hill to get up to the sportsmen’s so not suitable if you struggle but the taxis are less than 4euro from PDC back up. Its a very small complex and feels like a family while you are there. Pool is bracing to say the least. Would most definatley return .

We stayed in apartment 215. Paid extra for a first floor balcony but if ever we returned we would not bother to pay the extra and choose a ground floor apartment purely as the stairs between the upper apartments mean you and your neighbours balconies are open to each other and not very private. The interiors are clean, tidy and well equipped with nice open views from the front and rear. We enjoyed lovely sunrise breakfasts on the balcony. The Tisalaya is a 10 to 15 minute walk down to the main Puerto Del Carmen *****. It is a 25 minute or so walk along the beach to the old town and harbour which is without doubt our favourite part of the resort. We walked back up the hill a couple of times but as it’s quite a climb we mostly grabbed a taxi for 5 euros including a tip. You can grab a large bottle of water for 2 Euros in reception which saves you carrying one up the hill from the nearest supermarket which is around 500 yards away. Pool area is basic, clean and tidy. It’s a sun trap but there are only a couple of parasols available between the many well worn sunbeds. For a Jet2 package holiday I would say this was mid value for money amongst the numerous holidays we book with this tour operator.

Firstly people have to appreciate that in Spain it's a 1 star, Jet2 class it as 2 star. Due to this you pay no tourist tax. The apartments are clean and all face onto the pool. East facing so you can have breakfast on the balcony in the sun. They are rather dated, but perfectly acceptable. The whole place needs a bit of TLC. For example the towels are thread bare and looked to have been washed many times. The tea towel appeared 10 years old. Some of the walls inside and out need a lick of paint. The entrance gate hadn't been painted for years. The pool area was tidy and clean. Saying all this the rooms were cleaned on a regular basis, all staff were friendly and adequate facilities in the apartment which was a good size. When we went in January, most folk were like us, over 50. The place was nice, quite and peaceful. No screaming kids and no drunk teenagers. The apartments are in a good location about 10 minutes down hill to the seafront and the busiest part of Del Carmen. Some of the older guests walked down and got a taxi back up as a steep hill. All in all, would I stay there again, yes. Due to a good price, location and being nice and quiet yet not far from the busy seafront with loads of bars and restaurants.
