First impressions were terrible, need to go to the other hotel to check in, shouldn’t have happened, there was a rude & overdone receptionist at the sister hotel who told us we would need to wait until 3 for our room, no option to leave out bags except next to her when people were coming in and out all the time and items could have been easily stolen. You could get changed in that hotels bathroom which was a straight no due to cleanliness. We arrived at ten so had to sit for hours, upon arrival we were dropped at what is supposed to be our hotel’s reception but it was closed, so the walk to the other one is not ideal in the heat with luggage. I seen people cleaning when we got there, so there was no need for us to wait that long the room would have been ready well before we were allowed into them, and while the hotels rooms were sort of clean they would not have taken that long to be sorted out. Floors were filthy though, always have sliders on if you’re going. Room has everything you need, Pool is nice, pool area is nice too, a bar area would have been nice but the shops are across the road and you can easily find what you need. There’s no shortage of supermarkets, use the one on the bottom floor of the shopping centre though they have a much better range of items and freshly pressed juice machine. The hotel is quiet and peaceful and everything you need for a few days to recharge. Well decorated but as I say floors aren’t cleaned sufficiently. Have removed stars for this, the dram with reception and that god awful brassy blonde receptionist. There are some strange men hanging about outside the shopping centre across the road but I think they’re meant to be there to get customers in, but they in fact do the opposite. The intimidate women by leering and making you feel generally uncomfortable but they wouldn’t deter me from going across, if you can, make sure someone else is with you. Hotel restaurant is not bad, pricy for what it is. Waiters are funny though and very pleasant. Would go back if minor changes were made.

Just spent 2 week in the lara apartments.. first of all check in is a bit of a farce because your transfer will obviously take you to the lara reception which is closed most of the time. Best off telling the driver to take you to the nido del aguila reception there you will find checking in very easy. From there you go up 3 sets of steps thru a gate then your in the lara apartments.. now the apartment itself was very clean and modern.. air-conditioning worked fine. You have 2 pools 1 shallow with fancy shower things in and the other is just a normal pool. We had a balcony our view was basically the restaurant..if your tall enough you can see the sea above it..as for that restaurant we ate once on there so that says it all. There is no pool bar as such but the europa centre is basically thru a gate over a crossing and your there. You can use the nido bar if need be. All I will say bad about this place is if you are a light sleeper like I am it's no good. You hear absolutely everything from loads of apartments. Also because the front gate is open most of the time you get random locals just coming in and using the pool..there was only 13 sunbeds poolside for the top apartments to use and there were more sunbeds on the raised bit near the restaurant over looking the road! Ps we asked to keep the room on and got a point blank NO. and the only member of staff you will see is your cleaner whom might I add was very nice.. not for me this place but it wasn't the worst place I've stayed in.

Perfect place for a couples holiday in a central location. Easy check in and an easy experience requesting a late check out. Room was clean and air con was very welcomed and perfect. Lovely size balcony. Only a couple of steps and you are in the mix of restaurants and bars. Super helpful staff. Only reservation was the bed was 2 singles pushed together and wasn’t overly comfortable. Would go back!

Stayed 1 night · Our worst stay ever. Unfriendly staff. Very dirty room. Especially the bathroom. Air condition dindn’t work - got portable on the bedside table - but how can that be possible. Dirty chairs on the balcony. Cockroache walked on the living room floor and small ants on the kitchen bench - bad sleep that night and no understanding or regrets of our experience. There is no freezer in the room and angry waiter when we asked for ice cubes. We tried to speak to the manager befordre we left but she was uncooperative and unwellcomming.

The apartment was ok, looks much better in pictures. The bathroom has a timer light, so you will finish the shower in a romantic way (no lights) and literally you need to go out of the shower to activate the light. The light go through the principal door (from the corridor) so the apartment is totally bright during the night. In front of the apartments is a big mall with a lot of restaurants and locals, so if you are looking for a quiet place forget about it, music until 4 in the morning, and very loud people. The reception and the kitchen were close “because people were on holidays” no notification about it, only about the restaurant and only when we paid. The check in needed to be done on the opposite side of the block, no organisation or communication, they just put a paper that was impossible to read because of the distance. Some days people were smoking inside the pool, or even drinking, and putting music loud.. no body checked anything. We won’t come back, overpriced.

Stayed at the Lara apartments gran caneria. Lovely clean apartment upper floor gives you an overlook of the sea, pool area spotless enough sun loungers no one putting towels out at 3am . Maid service could not fault, clean towels daily, Stayed self catering, supermarket at Europa centre 2 min walk from apartments. Adults only , chill out area wonderful , Added bonus beds very comfortable requested extra pillows brought straight over. Would stay here again definitely yes. Only downfall was early check out no one at reception had to place key card in mail box as no-one informed us of this Have to check in and out at sister hotel nido de Aquila If you do stay here on drop off and pick up from sister hotel there are few stairs over to the Lara apartments

My partner and I visited for 10 nights and were happy with the experience. Having to check in at the sister hotel is a bit of a faff, with the walk back to Lara up lots of steps and involving the use of keycards to open gates etc. Apartment was clean and modern, with a smart TV which was good for YouTube but also had Netflix and Amazon Prime apps you could use. The maids cleaned most days and the whole complex was clean and tidy. The location is great, right across from the Europa centre with plenty of shops and restaurants. This can be a bit noisy at night, so can't quite sit on the balcony in silence (though this didn't bother us). They have a shower you can use if you have a late flight and provide free towels for this, which is a nice touch. Taxi down to the other shopping centre/beach costs 8 euro, 4-5 back up the hill. You can walk down about 800 steps but it's very strenuous so taxis probably required for most people. Some negatives which bothered us now: the towels are absolutely tiny! If you're larger than a size 14, it probably won't go around your whole body. Also, all of the towels supplied to us had holes in them and one had a rust stain. They need replaced. We phoned and asked about late checkout but were told we had to ask on the day to check if it's needed (surely they'd know what they have booked in a few days in advance?). When we asked, they said no the hotel was full. They said we could use the pool etc., but to access the pool at the Lara, you needed your keycard, which they took from us when we checked out so we used the facilities at the sister hotel (which are not nearly as nice). We later found out, they let you keep your keycard if you ask - they should explain this better. They also take a 50 euro deposit on check-in, which I've never experienced (except for party hotels aimed at 18-30s type holidays) but seems to be the norm in Gran Canaria, this should be made clear when booking so there's no surprises though.
