Summer Bay Resort is very professionally managed and run. Beautiful location. We had to postpone our trip from 6 months ago due to a family health crisis with an elderly parent. The resort had no qualms with allowing us to postpone the trip and handled it remarkably well throughout. We are a family of 4 and had a wonderful 4 days of scuba diving and enjoying the beach. The dining experience was also of a very high standard. We would highly reccomend this resort if you are looking for a short family getaway. A big thank you to the team at Summer Bay Resort. You guys look very motivated and enjoy your work at this resort. We will be back.

Summer Bay Resort Island is a tropical paradise that feels like a dream come true. As i arrived on the island, I was immediately enchanted by the beauty that unfolded before my eyes. Pristine beaches, crystal clear waters, and lush surroundings make it a haven for those seeking natural beauty and relaxation.

I was really looking forward to this trip but was disappointed. The room we were in had a smell of termite insecticide. It was horrible. We turned off the aircond, switched on the fan and opened the doors and windows but the smell still lingered. We had to endure 3 sleepless nights. Food was plentiful but dishes like prawns were snapped up as soon as the dishes came out and was not replenished. However, on the last day of our stay we were served with individual plates of prawns for the hotpot. There was plenty of fish at the sea in front of the hotel but they were of the same kind and not so beautiful or colourful. Perhaps further out to the sea there are but I didn't venture so far out. For activities like swimming with turtles we had to go to another area. A number of snorkelling trips were cancelled due to the presence of jellyfish. The staff are generally good and helpful and I would have given this place a higher rating were it not for the smell in the room

What's Good The Rooms are decent, but at the time of us being there, the resort is building a new block with appears to have larger and upgraded room design and layout. A great place to learn and get your open water Scuba certification. Clean beach waters, lots of fishes. What you need to know : There are NO elevators in this facility. So if you are planning to bring a lot of heavy baggage, please be prepared to lug your bags up to 4 levels of stairs if you have a room assigned on the 4th level. There are NO hot water kettle in room. You have to walk down to the ground floor at the staircase, where there is a water dispenser. So forget about having your morning cuppa in bed when you get up. What's not good. And within control of the resort staff/owner : Too many Mainland Chinese tourists spoil the ambience of a nice resort. A nice resort, and the peace and quiet is constantly broken by Chinese tourists, who loves to yell and shout in their conversations at the pool side. Even by the beach, you will not be able to enjoy a snooze of no more than 10minutes, when you are startled by a mother yelling out the names of her kids, as she looks for them. For every single day of our stay, there will be some one talking loudly using facetime or video calls, occupying the few deck chairs by the pool side. They could have gone to a table or somewhere else, rather than sitting on a lounge chair and not letting swimmers and beach users use these chairs, Beach waters are clean, safe and no strong currents. Perfect for families with kids to enjoy a safe and fun beach side vacation, BUT dealing with the incessant loud noise and you have to put up with the shouting. yelling and loud conversations of the Mainland chinese tourists. The hotel owner/staff should constantly remind the Chinese tourists to be considerate. Dont rent their Kayaks. It is way too expensive. They have a beachfront bar. Don' t order their wine as it is flat. We gave the benefit of doubt, and ordered on 3 separate days with 3 different wines. So dont. Ordering a beer is much better.

After 45 minutes by speed boat, we arrive on an island bordered by turquoise water. To start, the food is excellent. Whether at breakfast, at lunchtime and in the evening. It is always a buffet with a few options and each service has its variations of dishes. The pool is long and relatively quiet because the majority of people go diving or are at the beach. The beach has enough sun loungers to always find free ones. The waters directly in front of the hotel call for swimming and snorkeling. Hammocks are also available at the beach. For people who do not want to put their heads underwater, a passage on the pontoon is enough to see many small fish, baby sharks and some corals. The island offers many free and paid activities. Among the free activities, a boat tour of the island to go snorkeling in the many sites is a real plus. Note that the corals are still in a good state of conservation. The negative point: the rooms. Our room is long and has a small balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The beds are ok and so is the bathroom. A drinking water dispenser is available and bottles are refilled when cleaning the room and on demand if necessary. In conclusion, we really liked this hotel. Except for the rooms, what could be improved is a larger scale cleaning of the beach.

Awesome resort! The management is very organised from the start to the end of our stay at the resort. All staff are switched on except for a few housekeeping staff who are not fluent in English. Perhaps, with some assistance and training, they can improve their communication with all guests. The resort is always clean and tidy. The surrounding is calm and relaxing. The beach is unreal with crystal clear waters. Although the food provided as part of the package is delicious with a variety each day, the menu repeats on alternate days. So it you're staying more than 3 days 2 nights, you'll get the same meal on the extended nights. They offer special seafood platter on the third night, but it's not great if you don't eat seafood. But we truly enjoyed our stay.

Overall lang tengah is a paradise but this is a lousy and over rated hotel for the price they take. we paid in between 800 to 900 for package in diff rooms. They publish as 4 star hotel but in reality it is a 2 or 2.5 star. 1. Rooms are small. toilet is with poor amentiies and poor in facilities. it said garden biew while we got a lousy jungle view. lots of noises. even the corrider is for 1 people to pass. with the same price or less we could get taaras or 4 to 5 star hotels anywhere in perhentian or redang. their room pictures are very deceiving. room has no coffee or tea and bed is hard. 2. food choices were not bad but tasteless of most except few. with this price u dont expect such poor food quality. the 1 night bbq was better at least. 3. after such a large sum, they still require to pay for snorkeling gears and life jackets. however the quality of both is poor. when u pay extra u surely will expect better quality of the gears n jackets. wont u? 4. their snorkeling trip was included but another lousy service. 1st day they said sea is choppy so we will go 1 point. then why the hell u charge for 2 points? even with ur t&c it is not fair as the 2nd point was just next to the beach. 5. the perhentian trip was taken to 1 point only. what the hell? even the smallest resorts take 3 to 4 points at perhentian. why u charge so much for the package???????? 6. went to blue tears. the young guide was speaking in chinese. did we pay less than those chinese mainland noisy tourists????? this is not a tour. he just bring n ask u to find urself. 7.importantly the hotel mever said the return boat will send to a different jetty in merang. we had toddlers..kids n senior citizens. we all were standing in hot trying to find whats going on or anyone sending us to waterfront jetty. till i had to b super angry they tried to help. whyyyyyyy? did we pay 300 a person? even those hotels serve better. 8. the drinks at the sunset bar was freaking expensive while the drinks were very bad n in a small glass. even perhentian or redang does not do that. the singer were singing 80% chinese songs. did we not pay for our group's drink? why cant u mix n match??????? luckily the beach was not bad with corals n fishes else we would sit n cry only with such a uncomfortable service of most services they provide. my advise is pay less n stay at seri pacific or d coconut. they have bad room review but i went n checked. at least their rooms r better n summer bay rooms r noway better thn them. expect less service but u r paying less than half per person. If we paid 400 to 500 a person for this then we would not complaint but with so much of money they took it should already have a 4 or 5 star services i complained to hotel but till now noone recerted. The boat transfer guy is the one who took my complaint n assured to raise to his boss which was nice e of hi

I only used the Dive Shop not the hotel residence. They are an excellent dive shop and maybe the only ones on the island. Great house reef. Good place to start night diving or snorkeling via shore dives. A few good dive spots around Lang Tengah. Well organized and safe!
