This was close to perfect. Everything I like in a B&B / Hotel.
Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Great oldie worlde pub part, but super modern rooms with everything you need. Lovely and warm, hot towels, clever little communal tea, coffee area just outside the rooms with real milk in a little fridge. Really clever layout. Cracking little bathroom, perfectly clean… loved it.
Booked a meal and it was beautiful, home made lasagne & cottage pie with fresh veg, salad, garlic bread… breakfast was great, too… lots of choice and a nice large or small cook breaky…

Very pleasant one night stay enroute from Brighton to Torquay. Warm welcome from the innkeepers, delicious dinner and breakfast in the pub downstairs, and a very comfortable and quite night's sleep in a newly renovated room.

We stayed at the Rose and Crown as it was close to family and we also had a group meal there. Firstly, our room was absolutely lovely and had all the ‘extras’ that you wouldn’t expect to find in a small establishment. We had a very good nights sleep and the breakfast was excellent, as was our meal for 6 the evening before! The food and service for our dinner was top notch! There was an entry in the visitors book that said ‘if you entered the TV programme 4 in a bed (which features smaller accommodations around the UK), you’d win it hands down’! Says it all really!

Excellent value for money. The B n B is clean and comfortable and has everything you need the attention to derail is 2nd to none we only had breakfast which was amazing presented well and very hot staff friendly and nothing too much troubke. The bed was so comfy and the shower was powerful and hot. Complimentary bathroom products were a nice touch.

The room was very modern and nice and plenty of extras eg tea, coffee and fresh milk adjacent to our room.
Breakfast was nice and the evening food also.
Owners were nice and helpful. We will definitely go back.

Great place to stay, good location. Room was comfortable, clean and the facilities were good. Food (dinner and breakfast) was lovely. I would recommend this place as a good base for visiting the nearby attractions.
