The Victoria Hotel

We visited twice whilst on holiday, once for lunch and once for evening meal, and could not fault the service and food both times. A good menu to suit everyone, home cooked, tasty and great value - all plates sent back empty. Thank you for a warm welcome, we will return and recommend to others.

Brilliant.The room was quiet, spotless and dog friendly. The Hotel was in a brilliant location to the beach and sand dunes( 2 minutes walk) and village and Marina(8 minutes walk) The owners made every effort to get things right. Shops and places to eat so close. We went on some great day trips. Will definitely return.

On arrival Simon and Laura couldn't have made me feel more welcome, nothing was too much trouble. They were absolutely brilliant. The room was spotless, very, very clean. The furnishings where top end. The bed was so comfortable, the shower and toilet facilities were also very clean, hot water with good shower pressure. Tea and coffee facilities at hand, topped up at my request. I stayed for 3 nights and I can't fault my stay. Thank you so much Simon and Laura you were so helpful. I recommend The Victoria hotel to my bosses and suggested they continue to use your services. I felt welcome and more importantly, ready for work everyday because I was well rested. Wow! Arrived here about 6. We were a party of 9 adults and 3 children and were made to feel very welcome. Simon was very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Food was absolutely lovely and piping hot, will definitely be back soon!! Thankyou

First let me concentrate on the good points - the room was fine with comfortable furniture, sufficient space, tea and coffee facilities. good TV etc. The only lack was a bedside table and lamp on one side of the bed that made reading very difficult for two sharing a double bed. The staff at all times were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is situated about ten minutes walk from the town centre. On the negative side the hotel in places resembled a bomb site - sizeable redecoration is going on and the erstwhile bar was a collection post for furniture and equipment. No meals were served and while the price was not outlandish, we did feel a breakfast should be included. We were responsible for part of the main problem in that we initially booked for a Tuesday and Wednesday stay but had to ring the hotel to change it to Monday/Tuesday which was accepted. When we arrived there was no-one at the hotel and we were clearly not expected. We phoned the number we had on the booking form and after a short time we were given instructions on how to enter. After our stay we were contacted by the hotel four times asking us why we hadn't arrived on the arranged date (a week after our initial booking had stated) and what we were doing about paying the bill (which I already had done). I would stress that this was all done very politely but there is clearly an organisational problem. it does seem there was an on-going restoration to another hotel in their chain and this probably explains some of the problems as they were preparing for the bank holiday weekend. Hopefully under normal circumstances everything would wok more smoothly.

Stayed on a Saturday night loud intrusive music until around midnight. Then lots of street noise til later. En suite was tiny, no hooks or rails for towels, or toilet roll light failed. No breakfast so price exorbitant.

Having booked the hotel 12 months in advanced as was travelling for a sailing competition with 100+ entries and knowing the limited availability of the accommodation in the area We've had to book somewhere else 15 miles out of Pwllheli. if you do have a booking here, its probably best you keep calling them to make sure they don't cancel your booking with no reason or prior contact!
