Gexian Village Resort Moon Dyeing Xianju Hotel

I booked a deluxe twin room, and they upgraded me to a room with a view when I checked in, which was a nice touch. I did a lot of research beforehand, and I have to say, the official photos make the place look like a cheap motel, but it's actually much better, haha! The space is huge. The vanity area is big enough for two people to spread out their makeup, and the small makeup mirror has excellent lighting. The bathroom is quite large, and there's even an emergency call button in the toilet, which is a rare and great feature! It's pretty quiet overall; I'd say the soundproofing between rooms is standard. The only minor noise issue is from the sightseeing buses and construction vehicles passing by, as it's next to the road, but it's still acceptable. The only really noticeable noise is the air conditioning, but that's unavoidable with central AC. The front desk and other staff were all very friendly and patiently answered all my questions. The cafeteria is also quite close, and the square where they release lanterns is incredibly near – just cross a small bridge, and you're there. It's really easy to find. This trip wasn't planned for other activities; I just came to see the Lantern Festival, so I didn't explore much else. Upon check-in, we received a complimentary cable car ticket, which I thought was a great deal. If you were to buy a round-trip ticket yourself, it would be about the same price per person. There's an observation deck at the top that's definitely worth visiting. It was incredibly foggy when we went, but it made everything look so ethereal and truly magical. The next morning, it cleared up a bit for breakfast, but the fog hadn't completely lifted yet. I'm sure Gexian Village is even more beautiful on a sunny day. Breakfast was decent; not amazing, but there was a good variety of options.

The service was quite good. When I arrived at the hotel entrance, a staff member helped me with my luggage to the front desk on the first floor. The front desk staff were also pleasant, and they even gave us a complimentary sachet as a souvenir when we checked out, which was a nice touch! However, the hygiene was just so-so. We specifically booked this hotel because it had a laundry room, but the detergent there was clumpy, and the dryer kept showing 'reto' (I assume 'reset' or an error code). I opened the filter, and oh my goodness, it was incredibly, incredibly dirty. It looked like it had never been cleaned. I wanted to clean it myself before using it, but even the sink was broken. I really hope the hotel staff pay attention to this aspect, as it's a huge minus. There were also a lot of bugs on the ceiling of the hallway. I understand it's in the mountains, but it was quite off-putting to see. The room hygiene was acceptable, with just a few small dead bugs on the walls, which I could overlook.

The night view of the scenic area is absolutely stunning, and there are plenty of activities! Staying inside the area is very convenient, with excellent views and attentive service.

Super convenient for watching the lights and close to the performing arts plaza. The service was attentive and thoughtful.

The family room we stayed in was quite spacious, which was a plus. However, the bedding felt a bit damp and uncomfortable. Since the hotel is located on a hill with stairs, there was no one at the front desk to help with luggage during check-out. I only discovered several bruises on my legs when I got home. I recommend splitting your luggage into smaller bags if you're traveling with family; it makes them easier to carry and helps avoid injuries.
