We quite liked the cleanliness and impeccable service. The climb to the beach is steep but it has private access and that is very beneficial.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shana and found the room, facilities and staff excellent. The breakfast, the bar and the dinners were equally excellent and the beach was also an added bonus. We plan on returning to Shana on our next visit it Costa Rica.

Lack of communication caused a lot of problems. I think they say yes a lot, despite not understanding your requests! Staff were very friendly and I LOVED the breakfast-best pancakes I’ve ever had! We had a pool room and then a junior suite after, preferred the junior suite as it had a kitchen and the pool room was very dark and dated. The beds are VERY comfortable and HUGE! The water did go off a few times while we were there but only for a few minutes and the aircon made up for it as it was amazing. Monkeys were the norm and we managed to observe a sloth poolside-brilliant entertainment. The food was delicious by the pool, which was great as it avoided us having to take a taxi at night (not an experience we enjoyed nor wish to repeat!) Cocktails were great and the poolside vibe was the best! Mike managed to arrange us a fantastic Mangrove tour, which was also a highlight of our trip.
