An excellent hotel with a delicious and varied breakfast. The staff is extremely friendly and the view from the balcony is priceless. Unfortunately there is no minibar, but I can still highly recommend the hotel.

A stunning location and a very comfortable, clean hotel with amazing views from the bedroom and restaurant. Walking opportunities are limited due to the steepness of the terrain but there’s a great path down to Curral do Freitas (45-60 minutes). Service was very good but the vegetarian food was not up to the standards that we expected. Good selection at breakfast but the hot breakfast is not kept warm. Nice jacuzzi and nice, small indoor pool.Certainly worth a visit but could be even better with better food as it’s a long way to the nearest restaurant. €3.35 bus from Funchal (No. 81) but check timetables carefully

Location is amazing. Outstanding view from room. Very comfortable reception. Attendants speak several languages. Room is roomy with a large terrasse. Room and bathroom are very clean. Nice restaurant with a view. Service is efficient.

Das Hotel lebt von der tollen Aussicht, das wars aber dann auch schon. Hygienisch in den öffentlichen Räumen mangelhaft: sehr schmutziger Boden im Restaurant, Tischdecken mit Flecken. Im Spa ebenfalls alles voller Kalkflecken, der Boden schmutzig, die Düsen des Whirlpools defekt, das Wasser mit unklarer Verschmutzung. Essen im Restaurant: ok aber überteuert für Preis/Leistung. In der Nacht 2x Feueralarm, scheint vom Hotel niemanden interessiert zu haben, keine Infos, sind dann mit ungutem Gefühl wieder ins Bett. Frühstück: max ok für den Preis. Schade, das Hotel hatte wohl mal bessere Jahre.
