A wonderful lodge at an altitude of 2,200 meters. There's a restaurant and a shuttle to the start of the trek to Tugela Falls. The rooms are small but cozy.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location with views of the amphitheatre from the hotel (clouds permitting) It is the ideal spot for walking to the top of Tugela Falls. If taking on this walk i recommend pre booking the 1st shuttle as when we were there (march) the clouds came in early meaning those starting later had less opportunity to see the falls and the fantastic views from the top. We stayed in one of the rondavels, the bed was very comfortable, but floors in the rooms are cold and there was nowhere to wipe you feet on the way in, suggest having slippers. Restaurant does good food. It would be good if the restaurant and bar could get there act together, the bar asks for your room number to charge to the room, but the restaurant doesn't do the same, so it can be complicated trying to.pay a combined bill.

This was my second stay here and the staff made the stay perfect. They were, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and so accommodating. The room floors could do with a scrub as well as washing and tidying up the curtains. Other than that everything else was perfect. Washroom facilities were spot on but shower floor corners need a clean.
What we took away...the beautiful staff. They are your best assets there. Then comes the views. Thank you Emma and Team

For those wishing to visit the top of the berg - Mont Aux sources, Tugela Falls top ofr the Amphitheatre top via the chain ladders, Witsies reort is aeat place to stay. Clean rooms, good food, Friendly staff, awesome mountain residence. go there!

We loved our stay here. We stayed in Sentinel Rm. 4, which was large and comfortable. The views from the lodge are fantastic. We ate breakfast and supper each night at the lodge restaurant and were happy with our meals.
Like most visitors here, we were here to hike to the top of Tugela Falls via the chain ladders. The hotel handled the logistics for us--the transport to the trailhead and packed lunch.
The next day, we had a massage at the spa located on the property, which was also amazing.
