Girandella Valamar Collection Resort

I absolutely see why this is a travellers choice award. We stayed a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The cleanliness was unbelievable. We saw staff cleaning every morning, as well as gardeners some days. The whole resort was spotless. The kids wanted to do the floating inflatables assault course every day, we probably should have purchased the week long pass! They also opted to be dragged around behind a speedboat on an inflatable sofa and absolutely LOVED it. We hired bikes from the cycle shop and cycled into Rabac one day. I have NEVER seen clearer, bluer sea water it's a stunning harbour town/fishing port. We also hired quad bikes and had a tour to the local mine led by Andre from the cycle hire shop. He was fantastic. We really enjoyed it. I was nervous beforehand as I hadn't driven one before but he explained everything very clearly and shared lots of interesting local knowledge! The scenery was something else.....a trip into the coal mine fascinating. Needless to say the quad bikes were immaculately clean! We played mini golf a few times too. Finally, the state of the art computer games room was very well designed and my kids enjoyed playing on one of the consoles there for an hour after dinner while my husband and I enjoyed a cocktail overlooking the beach. I also enjoyed the gym and the water aerobics class. We had a sea view family room in the family resort part of the resort. It had two rooms separated with a sliding door and a balcony. It was perfect for us. Impressed with this chain. A very slick outfit. The staff were a real credit to them. We had half board and ate at the restaurants at neighbouring hotels for lunch. Our hotel buffet was good quality and a broad selection. I am vegan but always had options. So, it was my first time in Croatia but hopefully not my last. Totally recommend this resort!!!

We stayed at the adults hotel and had a fantastic stay there. The rooms are nice and clean, the location is perfect and the breakfast is very good. But most important, the staff is very friendly! Especially Ivo at the Rebelle restaurant, what a sweet man! My parents were 30 years married and he arranged a big surprise for them. We will definitely come back.

As a couple we stayed in the Designed for Adults hotel for 7 nights in early Sept 2024. Pros: If you love Prosecco like me you’ll be happy. Unlimited Prosecco at breakfast (served 7 to 11), unlimited Prosecco at lunch (served 12-2), unlimited Prosecco with nibbles (served 5-6). Beds and pillows are really comfy. Room is quiet (we had top floor at end of corridor). Cons: Not enough places to eat in the hotel at night, especially if it’s raining as you can’t walk to a restaurant inside (it’s a huge complex). You have to walk to restaurants which is ok when it’s dry. We arrived at 11:45 am but were told we could not have lunch that day (even though served 12-2) but could on the last day. This was rubbish since our last day meant leaving at 7:30 am. They should give you the option of either. It meant (as we were hungry) that we had to leave the hotel and find a restaurant nearby, very soon after arriving. Other things: very clean hotel. Food is ok for breakfast and lunch (both included) but nibbles 5-6 leave something to be desired. It can be a bit steep in places so consider that if you struggle to get about. It’s not a dressy place. We didn’t wear the dressy clothes we brought. We did the 2 hr quad biking trip which was ace and the full day trip to Valun and the blue caves which was good, if a little long. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Suite was excellent, clean, spacy. Hotel staff was very polite and ready to help. Place is dedicated to kids and there is no chance that kids will be bored. So many activities. Restaurant was exellent, food delicios and waiters was there if you need something extra. There were extreme varietis of food,from meat,fish,vegetarian food and deserts-and that is for all parts of day,breakfast/lunch/dinner. Kids was thrilled that they have their own part of restorant,just for them. I will gladely recommend this place to all who want to have excellent family vacation.

Wonderful stay as always with Valamar, friendly and helpful staff, always there to help if needed. Great food, awesome things to do with a child, always something new and different. Our little one really enjoyed the trip. We will definetly come back

Quiet hotel for adults only. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The surroundings are neat and clean. Free sunbeds and umbrellas available from the pool to the beach. Lots of natural shade. Free sun towels are available at the pool. The rooms are neat, clean and modernly furnished with plenty of storage space. In the room is a "wine fridge" which is great for cooling both wine bottles and water bottles. You get 2 wine glasses and 2 water glasses too. Breakfast and Brunch are buffet style. For breakfast, there is a classic range of dishes from savory to sweet, as well as warm dishes and fruits. Brunch offers various types of cheeses, meat products (salami, prosciutto, etc.), vegetables, hot dishes (front kitchen) and salads. In the afternoon at 17:00 there is an aperitif, which offers hotel guests finger food and sparkling wine. The only cons is that the food offer is the same every day. At least for Brunch, maybe some dishes could be changed/replaced. Hotel guests have a discount in 2 restaurants, La Pentola and Black and Blue Steakhouse. Discounts can only be redeemed with a prior reservation at the hotel reception.
