Valamar Bellevue Resort

Great stay for our honeymoon with our 6 month old baby. Arrival was hard work. Took ages to finally get checked in and didn’t really explain to us what everything was. It felt confusing knowing what we could and could not use as part of our package. We spent the holiday asking other English people how it all worked. Room was great. We had an interconnecting room which is great for big family’s. All facilities good and you got a kettle which helped for making baby milk. Fridge had to be changed as it was not very cold but staff did this. Aircon was not much to celebrate. Not very cold. Great view from balcony over the sea though. Food was very busy! We went off peak so I imagine it would be crazy peak season as felt Busy when we went. Massive selection though which was good and always fresh and hot. Snack bar ok too. Great idea to have a baby room for food prep with microwave. Also provided a good cot with SIDS safe mattress. Maro club was great. We used the baby room which was handy to keep out the heat for parts of the days. Entertainment was ok. Swimming pools were too cold. Baby pool was better but still quite cold and contained sea water which our baby swallowed and put him off. As an adult though, pools were lovely. We could never sit by the pool in the sun with umbrella up as it was always windy. Not sure why they are even on offer as I don’t think it’s ever not windy to use them! Could do with an alternative option. Bar staff always friendly. Cocktails and wine were not that nice! Aperol spritz was the best.

Cannot fault the beautiful views and the infinity pool was simply perfect. After that unfortunately we were very disappointed, firstly with how cold the food was - I had to reheat my food in the microwave most of the time especially dinner times. Thank goodness for the hot pizza as one evening it was all fish and my hubby doesn’t like fish as well as it The other problem was though it says a family resort (and we always travel to family resorts) but there were so many children and the entertainment was purely for them. When I asked reception I was told entertainment for adults finished on 13th September - this needs to be made very clear at time of booking. We went into beautiful Rabac but that was also very quiet after 9 - loved the location so picturesque but hotel needs to be more flexible entertainment wise. Btw I’m a really easy going person so I’m not moaning for moaning sake !!

Don't usually write reviews but feel an honest appraisal may help. The hotel is spotless, set in hills side with stunning views across the Adriatic. It’s a large complex with several pools. it’s a family friendly hotel but we did notice an unusually high amount of children for mid September. Not a problem and can’t say it affected your peace. However, the entertainment was purely for children - think one night out of seven there was a quiz evening - but we never managed to find it !! - the hotels states it has other restaurants, but these were closed by 6pm ?? . So after your evening meal, it’s was a case of sitting at one of the bars , but no music - no live bands, as we thought. Did ask reception who advise season closes early September . We decided to go into Rabac via the hotel train, last train is 7:40 so had to walk back. Not a problem for me , but if anyone has mobility problems then I would not advise it - maybe hire a bike as no taxis available . Rabac it’s self, although very quaint and pretty was dead past 9pm. Food unfortunately was cold - I realise most buffet food is never piping hot , but this was just cold. Also one night had to eat chips as all other options contained fish.. This hotel has some very good points its pools and setting were lovely and it was very clean - staff are friendly and accommodating , but for me the lack of entertainment and the cold food let it down .

Great accomodation and food and beautifull nature and beaches we will come again. Very friendly stuff alleays there for you to assist in every possible way. Clean spacefull new rooms where you can feel at home.

Well - where to start? My family and I decided that it was a time to travel as grown ups since have a new family member. We were not aware of all the features that were offered. Once we arrived we could feel the good vibe with high level of service, beautiful view and treatment like nowhere else. The resort includes it all - literally all one family needs - facilities for children - great meals - perfect view - coast side and beach - animators etc. So finally I realized how the vacation with a child suppose to look like. Such a lovely place. The location is near perfect with fantastic sea view and easy access to the water. The staff is so sweet, property is spotless and special congrats to the Oliva team and their amazing manager Lara.

The place is amazing, super clean ( like Japan), staff are friendly and always helpful with big smiles. Lots of facilities for kids, and fun events for them to bond. The sea views are surrounded all bars/restaurants/pools with an en easy access to swimming. The resort is super green which make it unique. Food and all inclusive option is good way to rest from home duties. Staff are speaking many languages such as English, Italian and German- always saying hello and being very helpful. Will come again!

This is a review of two halves as we have experienced two differences due to the weather. Upon arrival it was extremely sunny and hot, absolutely beautiful hotel inside and out. We paid extra for a sea view room and were on the 6th floor above reception, great room and would be very happy to have this room again. The buffet can get quite hectic but the staff are constantly making sure tables are cleaned so grab a table first before you get your food. Breakfast and lunch were better than dinner in my opinion, however always lots of choice. Pizza is extremely popular with everyone and always hot and fresh. Lots of lovely salad options and fruit. Some dishes were hot and other times the food was a bit cold so a bit hit and miss but overall for an AI buffet it was fine. The snack bar by the main pool was a nice option at lunch to grab a quick meal/snack to eat at the lounger instead of navigating the buffet again. All of the staff we met work long hours and work very hard, always friendly and efficient. We were unable to book in the Taverna despite one meal a week being included however this is only included if you have booked direct with the hotel and we booked a package via easyJet so that was a bit disappointing. We got the little train into Rabac and walked back which was east and flat, we had dinner out twice and a look at the small tourist type shops and the harbour and that was a lovely change. The hotel can book the restaurants for you and you receive a 10% discount, the meals are reasonable priced too. Sadly we have had 3 days of very rainy and windy weather, the hotel and staff are working so hard but the restaurants have had quite bad leaks making seating difficult and very very busy. The inside communal areas are quite small so very limited places to sit meaning a lot of time being spent in the room. Hard to say how this could be improved as there is not a big space anywhere to introduce further seating as everything is so focussed quite rightly on being outside. Despite that, it has been lovely and I would recommend but when the weather is bad there is not much to do which has been a shame for the holiday to end on that note!
