De Vere Wokefield Estate

After requesting a quiet room due to having our 11 month old with us we were placed directly above the function suite for a wedding and while testing the sound system the floor below are feet curated and the noise was crazy. The moved us rooms out of the original Manor House we requested and into the furthest room possible from all amenities on offer smaller than our original room, 3rd floor and no lift with a baby in a pram and lots of luggage. The room was also unbearably hot and a crazy sensor/light in the bathroom kept our son (and them us) all night. Not sure if recommended staying here. .

A great room for a solo traveller, a huge king size bed and all facilities. They do tend to put singles in the Wellington lodge which is a 10 minute walk to the pool facilities.

My Partner and I just had a wonderful 2 night's stay at your beautiful hotel Everything was perfect from start to end. Room was clean with a nice decor and a lovely view Food and beverage delicious both Restaurant and Bar staff are Friendly and Welcome Service was very good special from Charlotte Knight helping with the Reservation Nice walks around the Hotel Looking forward to see you soon Thank you Wokefield Devere Hotel

I've just had a fantastic 2 night stay celebrating my 30th birthday at Wokfield Estate. Everything was amazing from checking in to check-out. The staff were super friendly, particularly Charlotte Knight. Charlotte looked after us and ensured we have everything that we needed. Even arranged a lovely platter for my birthday that was served after dinner. I was very surprised and have enjoyed the chocolate cake very much. I also want to mention Marco in the restaurant, Marriam and the lovely lady at reception(Bona I think is the name - apologies if the spelling is not right). They all looked after us and ensure we have a pleasant stay. The room was amazing (251) in the Mansion House. Very comfortable bed, quiet, bright with 3 large windows and so cozy. Both, breakfast and dinner were very good. I really enjoyed the chicken caprese and the buratta as a starter. On breakfast I liked that tea pots are provided on the buffet and you can help yourself to as much tea as you like. Overall, a relaxing stay made extra special by Charlotte Knight and the team. Thank you ever so much Can't wait to return!

I will start off by saying that the front of house woman, guest relations manager and restaurant manager ( Restaurant 1650) were reactive and did what they could within their power to hear my complaints and try find solutions. This is why the review is two stars apposed to one. But the whole De Vere Wokefield experience was totally abysmal Night one: no water or fridge in the “Deluxe” room. This was said to be due to “sustainability” I was brought a fridge which was plugged into the middle of the room and made it feel like I was staying in a camping trailer. Water was provided. One time only. The View restaurant was closed the whole weekend and there was NO room service available The 1650 Restaurant that was open had no less than 2/3 of its menu unavailable. I was actually shown the list of unavailable items and it was 3x more than the available items I was served by a wonderful waitress which was visibly embarrassed by the state of the menu however did her best to accommodate. The restaurant manager was also accommodating and understanding and I was provided with a couple drink vouchers Second day: the bar at the golf club… I ordered the Double Burger, at a cost of £21 This was shocking. Easily the worst “meat” I have ever tasted in a burger patty. See image. London priced burger made from a frozen, highly processed, low quality Costco style bulk buy garbage meat. The bun was dry with no butter. After one bite I left the rest uneaten. Paid in full and left to order Uber eats Returned to my room at 15.45 The cleaning team had still not even been to turndown the room. This was actioned quickly and a sincere apology from the head of cleaning department was received and appreciated. I was also left with a gown and slippers… on the second night… of my “Deluxe” room On the back of the previous day’s issues, walking into a disheveled room in the late afternoon just felt indicative of the poor organisation of the hotel in general Went down to the 1650 Restaurant for dinner on the second night.. when they actually had a full menu I was promptly told by a waitress that I could not eat as I had no booking and they were fully booked…. It was 18.45 and there was about 6 tables occupied. After speaking with the manager, he was quick to refute that statement made by the waitress and arranged that I could indeed eat. Still, I had to collect my own menu, order my drinks from the bar (keep in mind its table service) and was ignored by the waitress that was running the section Towards the end of the meal however the day was saved by a great waiter that made it his job to turn things around. The manager offered to comp the meal even before I had ordered, which was a kind gesture but I insisted to pay as this WAS NOT about getting free things. It was about having a good experience which overall it was not. Again, some of the staff were great at reacting and tried to sort things out but the feeling is that there is an underlying sense of : pay you

We had a fantastic experience at De Vere Wokefield. From the moment we arrived, Gareth went above and beyond to make our stay special—his attentiveness and kindness truly stood out. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully arranged, with thoughtful little treats for the kids that made them feel extra welcome. It’s those small gestures that make a big difference. The setting was lovely, and the service throughout was excellent. Highly recommend for families looking for comfort and care.
