We block booked The Spa for our wedding at Danby Castle Barn in April 2024 and they couldn't do enough for us! They reserved all remaining rooms with no charge, kept in constant contact and even refunded a deposit when my grandma couldn't make it due to ill health. Thank you! x P.S. The breakfast was fantastic!!

I got married at the Spa Hotel this month and can honestly recommend it as a hidden gem for an intimate wedding ceremony and reception in a stunning location. I first looked round the Spa Hotel in January and was priced up by the Karen the GM. I had very little need to speak to Karen until the month before when the final numbers and meal choices were given. In total, I had two meetings with Karen before the wedding and a few email exchanges to clarify questions. My bridesmaids and myself stayed the night before in a beautiful, spacious room. We had a delicious tea the night before in the restaurant and had an amazing breakfast brought to our rooms on the morning. My maid of honour and I even had our nails done in the Amber room, lovely staff and nice experience. Six months later and I’ve had my perfect wedding. 50 guests arrived for an 11 o’clock ceremony and from start to finish we were taken care of. The GM was behind the scenes checking everything moved smoothly and Ste, the master of ceremonies, led the day’s events. Nothing was too much for the staff and everyone worked tirelessly to make the day run smoothly. I wouldn’t change a thing about my day, it was perfect.

We stopped off for lunch and sat outside. The tables weren’t being cared for, all empty tables had dirty dishes from previous guests. We eventually got ours cleaned however I observed the waitress clear another table, spill milk on the table and floor and walk off. Although she came back to the area to serve food she never cleared up the mess. When going to order food I was in a queue of 10 people with 1 person serving. Very poor service in our opinion. The food was not of good quality. The ploughman’s lunch had a rubbery square piece of cheese obviously from a packet - the cheapest you can buy. The crab was not fresh - overall a disappointment. If you are looking for quality service and food give this place a wide berth. There are several other places in saltburn offering a lot better.

I have eaten here before a few times and it's always been good. This week I went twice in 3 days because it was,so wonderful. Its so refreshing to gave decent vegeterian food.I was with meat eaters who also enjoyed their meals. The food was great the staff were lovely and the view of sea and cliffs beautiful. I'm already planning my next two visits.

The sun came out, the hordes descended on Saltburn. Fortunately I got the last parking slot. Came for Coffees, stayed for Lunch. A mixed experience. Pros Great location. Stunning views over the Beach. Away from the hordes of holiday makers. Wonderful design, furniture and fittings. Disappointed not to be able to have either Macciato or Cortado Coffees. Asked for an Americano with Cold Milk and a Glass of Water. What arrived was a Black Americano with a thimble full of Cold Water - intended for the Milk! Que? Having failed to find any parking down amongst the hordes - @ £3 per hour!! We decided to return for Lunch. Only diners in the Dining Room. We were in no hurry but the service was glacial. Quite a few staff about, lots of comings and goings, but no service. Finally a Waited arrived I have enjoyed seafood for years, but had never been served Mussels out of their shells before. Served in an overly rich, cream sauce. Plus Frites, plus Bloomer Bread. Just the former would have been more than adequate. My wife opted for two starters. The Sausage one was fine apart from decidedly chilly Pitta. The Prawns were rather tasteless as no Marie Rose sauce. Another diner had Tapas. Two dishes fine but Lettuce did not really work. We will return, but primarily for the views and the location above the Beach. Hayling Seagoon

A regular visitor to Saltburn (staying with friends in Stokesley) we called in for Coffee and stayed for Lunch. A mixed experience. Pros Great to be able to Park. On the front it's £3 per hour!! Lovely decor, great roof Terrace overlooking the Beach. Cons The service was glacial. Some of the waiters did not seem "with it". Disappointed that neither Macciato nor Cortado coffees available. Opted for an Americano with Cold Milk and a Glass of Water. My Coffee arrived Black, with a thimble full of cold water - not Milk. We were on our own in the Restaurant, but our meals took ages. We weren't actually in a rush, but it still felt too long. My wife's Prawn starter was rather tasteless as there was no Marie Rose Sauce. After years of enjoying Seafood this was the first time I had ever been served Mussels out of their Shells. The Mussels, were fine, served in a rather heavy cream sauce with Frites and Bloomer bread. Just Frites would have been perfect. Our friend's wife opted for three Tapas dishes. Lettuce not interesting enough on its own. We will return for the location alone, but thought our observations, worth recording. Hayling Seagoon

Just popped in here for drinks at the weekend. Very busy bar/restaurant that does take away pizzas. Not particularly budget friendly, but very pleasant atmosphere. Great views of Saltburn-by-the-sea. Music in the background at just the right volume means its possible to have a conversation without being drowned out by the background music
