Our stay at The Bellmoor in May was wonderful! The weather was unusually chilly, breezy, and rainy but that didn't matter for the hotel experience was so pleasant. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire in the library and chatting with guests and we indulged in spa treatments. We had a lovely 12 days at The Bellmoor!

The hotel is undoubtedly very nice but we had some issues that we raised that we did not expect for an establishment of this caliber. While the staff was very responsive to the issues, they should not have happened in the first place. We stayed in the deluxe junior suite with the balcony. The room was big and spacious and the balcony was great. 1) Our bed was rock hard, however, to the point that both my partner and I could not sleep and had back pain. It seemed old as well. Housekeeping did come and add a topper to the mattress which helped but the bed was still uncomfortable and squeaky. It should probably be changed all together. We did not sleep well for the remaining time there. 2) On one of the days that I requested cleaning service, we came back to find that the cleaning staff moved the bench at the foot of the bed to the middle of the room and there was Lysol disinfectant spray and a cup with dirty sponges and detergent in the bathroom. It did not look like much had been cleaned. We thought at first the service wasn't complete but then realized she/he must have forgotten all together. The staff came to remove it but still. 3) The massages were subpar at best. The masseuse did not use oil at first which was strange. The bfast and hotel amenities including the hot tub are great but I'd like to sleep when I get away and did not think the price was worth it so I probably won't be returning in the near future.

Stayed in the Palmer House that was private and cozy, perfect couple hide out! Staff was fabulous and eager to ensure a good experience. Lovely setting with private courtyard and all the amenities! Looking forward to our next stay, can’t be too soon.

So welcoming and friendly. About my 5th time there and planning to come back in 3 weeks with my granddaughter.

I fell in love with this property when I first visited 12 years ago, and have made an effort to come back a couple times and it seems to have gone through some nice renovations over the years. However during my most recent stay (516 - 5/19) our experience left us wishing we had tried somewhere else. The staff here is friendly and attentive, from the housekeeping staff to the breakfast attendants and front desk staff. However, we were rather surprised to find the pool closed in mid-May, only one week before Memorial Day. This was a real blow to our plans when traveling with small children... As was the discovery that the lobby bar was closed on both Friday and Saturday evenings, when it was open the Thursday before. I checked into the pool prior to booking at the beginning of the year and was told it opens in May, so this was a bit frustrating. To have to pay rates for a premium property, including the rather offensive add-on of "resort fees" of 15% (for what, amenities that were neighter open or staffed appropriately?) was deeply frustrating and left us wishing we had tried one of the many other properties in town. These may seem like small critiques, but when you're planning a trip with small children and choosing a property based on the answers to questions like "can we take the kids to the pool?" or "can I go downstairs for a drink when the kids are asleep?" since I can't leave the property, well, it really puts a damper on the whole stay when the answers to those questions are surprisingly, no.

Nice hotel, check in was easy, we were shown to our room by the check in employee which was a nice touch. I did not see a bellman. Breakfast was ok. We did not take advantage of the omelette station but it was very popular. Dimly lit area on already cloudy rainy days. The courtyard is lovely and well maintained. Our room was satisfactory, but the bed was too hard for us, and unfortunately made for difficult nights sleep. Nice sitting areas in the lobby, relaxing by the fireplace was nice.

We love the Bellmoor. We've been coming for at least ten years. It has been impeccable, a fine hotel, with unvarying quality. However, under new management, there has been some slippage. It was short-staffed (everyone is, but apparently there were some labor problems), customer service was erratic, breakfast did not seem to be up to the same quality standards as before. Staff were very polite but seemed under a lot of pressure. There was even a bit of wallpaper peeling in the bathroom. These are all remediable problems, so we continue to give a 5 star rating in the hope that management is able to address them effectively and soon. Reputation is everything.
