Den Toten zum Gedenken, den Lebenden zur Mahnung!

Trans World Hotel Auefeld

Hannoversch Munden|7.49km from Den Toten zum Gedenken, den Lebenden zur Mahnung!
This was our first time in this hotel. We booked the suite including half board, parking and a fruit basket. The suite consisted of a bedroom and a ”living room”. The living room was very nice, with a sofa bed, an armchair, a sideboard and a designer lamp. There was also an espresso machine and a TV in this room. The size of the room was nice and comfortable. In the bedroom we had a double bed with 2 mattresses, which we weren't used to, but it didn't bother us. This room also had a flat-screen TV, a table with a chair, as well as an armchair and a closet. Both rooms had access to the spacious balcony. The bathroom was equipped with a shower, a sink with a long vanity unit, a hairdryer and care products. The toilet was next to the bathroom in a separate room. You could reach both the toilet and the bathroom from the living room. The only thing that bothered us was that you had to change rooms after going to the toilet to wash your hands. For hygiene reasons (touching the door handles in both rooms without washing your hands), the hotel should have done something different here. The fruit basket was a positive surprise. There was more than enough fruit for us and, above all, everything was fresh. In March we got: apples, pears, kiwis, mandarins, physalis and grapes. Very nicely arranged in a glass cake stand. I didn't really understand the extra cost for the parking lot, as every guest could just park in the parking lot. We could have saved ourselves that. Half board (included a 3-course meal chosen by the chef, or buffet, as we were told on the phone). When we entered the restaurant in the evening, we were told that there was no buffet that day. The waiter read out what the 3-course meal was and asked with an ”OK?”, but we were not offered a choice. So we didn't understand the request. The food was good though. The facilities, both in the restaurant and in the hotel room, were clean but ”old-fashioned”. Around the 90s (?). But that didn't detract from it. We felt comfortable and it was perfectly fine for an overnight stay. We have to particularly praise the staff at reception. No matter when and how often you spoke to the nice ladies, they were always very nice and very friendly! The only negative thing that we, as a non-smoker, immediately noticed was the smoking area right next to the entrance. There was often a group of smokers standing there. As a non-smoker, you get that immediately. All in all, we were satisfied and can highly recommend the hotel!
