A great space to rest, relax or date with a unique view of the Douro. The view is a must-see although GPS access is confusing, as is the entrance to the hotel - 2/3 couples were also trying to find the entrance.
The meal was wonderful and with style (it looks gourmet but is to be satisfied and with the refinement of a chef).
As for the jacuzzi and sauna we were a little disappointed. A jacuzzi with only 4 squirts for so many people is not enough.
The bed was also to be desired - it wasn't as comfortable as it appeared but it was quite spacious.
At the time I went, the outdoor pool was naturally closed.
The night has a very pleasant musical evening.

This should be a really great hotel and there is much to like about it including the stunning views but it is let down by a number of annoying traits. First the positives. Great views of Douro river and the outside pool area is great ~ a heated outdoor infinity pool a welcome surprise. The restaurant for dinner was very good and the waiter was welcoming and the food very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was ok but all of the ‘hot’ food was cold. The room was very comfortable ~ we had a junior suite ~ there were tea/coffee making facilities although no milk! I asked at reception and was told to contact room service or go to the bar. Reception was generally a bit frosty. We stayed for two nights and although the room was ‘serviced’ they did not replenish the tea bags or the bottle of water that was provided on the first night. The spa and leisure facilities are ok (massage was good) although for some reason you could swim in the exterior pool without a cap but needed a cap for the indoor pool. The showers in the leisure area had no shower gel in them. As I say this should be a great hotel.

Todo o staff de todas as áreas é profissional, simpático e muito prestável - recepção, restaurante, bares, spa e limpeza. Do hotel em si esperava mais para um hotel de 5 estrelas, especialmente a nível do restaurante e spa, que têm pouca oferta. O SPA não permite entrada a menores de 16 anos, o que não é fácil para quem tem crianças (deveriam permitir deste que com supervisão claro). Existem varios restaurantes bons, com comida regional, relativamente próximos, como o Rabelo e o Alpendre, que experimentamos. Quarto de muito boa qualidade, com excelente limpeza. Bares simpáticos e com óptimos snacks. Amplo estacionamento privado e fechado para clientes. O top é mesmo a piscina com uma vista magnífica, com uma zona envolvente extremamente calma, óptimo para relaxar. O pequeno almoço também é muito bom, com vista para o rio, ideal para começar um bom dia. Excelente piscina interior, com boa temperatura, ideal para crianças com supervisão. Uso obrigatório de touca. Tem ginásio à disposição. Circuito spa está incluído no custo da estadia, para hóspedes. Massagens devem ser pagas à parte e são mediante marcação.

Instalações maravilhosas. Atendimento ao cliente e restaurantes não são de um hotel de 5 estrelas. Pequeno almoço com variedade escassa, não havia omeletes. Este tipo de hotéis costumam oferecer um vinho de Porto nas boas vindas, nada foi oferecido. No check out informamos que íamos utilizar ainda a piscina, disseram-nos que só podiamos estar na piscina até às 2h da tarde. Claro esta que ninguém nos foi tirar da piscina, mas só o simples comentário foi desagradável e nunca vi o tal num hotel qualquer que fossem as estrelas. Quartos bons e espaçosos com vistas lindas. Confortáveis. Cofre avariado. Chuveiro avariado e wc no geral a precisar de renovação, já bastante antigo. SPA foi bastante agradável com grande amabilidade das funcionarias. Espaço da piscina, é enorme e bastante agradável. Deveria ter música, demasiado silencioso. Bar da piscina devia ter mais opções de comida e os funcionários deveriam ir ter com os clientes às cadeiras, coisa que tal não acontecia.

While the staff was great , the food was somewhat limited as the main dining room menu never changed. Our rooms were spacious , clean and modern . The main problem was that the air conditioning worked only sporadically. Every day (sometimes twice a day) we reported that the A/C didn’t cool our rooms overnight. This lead to 4 adults in two rooms being tired each day. The lack of A/C was made worse by the fact that even though the windows opened there weren’t any screens to keep bugs out.
