Great location in the Bay of a small fisherman's village. The view from the breakfast terrace was beautiful. Service was friendly and easy going. Public parking is available around the corner of the hotel (free from 8 pm to 8 am). Rooms and bathrooms are rather small but for us it was sufficient. Rooms are very quiet as windows to the small street are very well isolated. During our stay there was construction ongoing in the Bay (May 2023) which didn't bother us as we had breakfast before it started.

10 out of 10! :) We have had a dream holiday with thanks to all the staff of the hotel. Everything is just right! The room was very clean with every day a little "towel" surprise on the bed. Tea, coffee and an every day bottle of water were provided. The staff at the reception helped us bij booking trips and gave us all the tourist information we asked for. They all are very professional! Breakfast was very good and more than enough to choose from! Breakfast at the terrace overlooking the bay is just a must ! Also diner was very good with fresh fish, clamps etc. At the end of the day it was just lovely to chill at the terrace, drinking a Sangria and see people walking by and off course , taking there pictures with the painting Churchill :) . Dear Staff thank you very much fot this beautiful holiday and till next time !

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel, (03/06/2024 to 10/06/2024) and our experience was thoroughly disappointing. Despite paying for a superior deluxe room, we found nothing special or extra about it. The room was entirely unremarkable, failing to meet our expectations for the price. We enquired at reception as to the difference between deluxe and superior deluxe only to be told the latter is on the first floor and deluxe on the ground floor. The breakfast was subpar, resembling what one might expect at a budget hotel rather than a supposed upscale establishment. Furthermore, our time at the pool was marred by the fact that it was being cleaned while we were swimming. This was not only inconvenient but also unprofessional. When we voiced our concerns, we received nothing more than an apology and four Portuguese tarts—hardly a solution to the issues we faced. The only redeeming factor of our stay was Daniel, who provided exceptional service. His dedication and professionalism were commendable, but sadly, they were not enough to offset the numerous disappointments we encountered. Our stay at this hotel did not meet our expectations, and I cannot recommend it based on our recent experience.

Wij hebben op onze rondreis hier twee nachten geslapen, goede kamers, heel fraai gelegen aan haventje. Meerdere leuke restaurantjes op loopafstand. Prima ontbijt. Met auto even op en neer naar Funchal is zeker te doen. Echt wel een aanrader.

We are staying at the Pestana Grand and had heard of the quality lunches served at the Pestana Churchill. We walked along the coast and enjoyed the scenery on Wednesday 29 May and easily found the restaurant having asked at the reception which was attended by the most helpful staff member, who gave us a bus timetable for our return ‘home’. Pedro served us lunch, he was kind, polite and welcoming. The food was excellent, scabbard fish just melted in your mouth and the mussels very tasty. Lovely view of the fishing port of Camara de Lobos From the terrace. Would recommend. It was good to meet Winston too.

We were on the Open top bus from Funchal and stopped off in Camara De Lobos. It’s a lovely quiet area and the Pestana Churchill Bay hotel is in a beautiful location on the harbour. We sat outside for refreshments and the service/refreshments were all good. The hotel interior in the reception area was also very nice and outside there is a statue of Winston Churchill painting, the extra seat by the statue is very popular for photo opportunities!

Exceptional service All your staff are a credit to you. The young man on reception kindly extended our check out time until 2pm and also looked after our luggage until 5pm whilst waiting for our airport transfer car to pick us up. All your restaurant staff were exceptionally attentive and very friendly. My husband and l both from day 1 enjoyed Nuno's good sense of humour. Comment 100% satisfied and will definitely recommend you to family and friends if they are visiting Madeira.
