Goldmoor Inn & Resort

We absolutely ADORED our stay at the Goldmoor Inn! What an incredible weekend! No detail went unnoticed, the room was sparkling clean, the staff and owners were kind and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge two of our three nights, and we dined at the Goldmoor Restaurant on our final night -- and it was spectacular! The food, service, ambiance, everything was amazing! The setting of the Goldmoor had fantastic views and the peaceful tranquility of the grounds was so enjoyable. We stayed in the Irish Cottage that had a rockwall waterfall shower...delightful! The breakfast each morning outdid itself, and we always looked forward to the next day's. Just WOW; I can't remember the last time I stayed somewhere so quaint and perfect.

This is our 2nd time here - we thought it was fabulous the first time but OH MY GOODNESS it was even better than we remembered, it's an OUTSTANDING location, and the service is perfect in every way. The owner personally takes the time to meet and answer questions.... the scenery is gorgeous too. We stayed in the Irish Country Cottage and LOVED it. Quiet and restful and you've GOT to experience the food in their restaurant open for dinner only. There are not enough stars I can give to rate the service and the food - Still drooling and ready to go back!

Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary right where we spent our honeymoon. Like our marriage, it just keeps getting better and better every year! Love the suites, the grounds, the meals, the staff, the views, the air, and of course the owners. Will definitely keep going back.

We love going to the Goldmoor! We try to get there a couple times of year. The innkeepers are nicest people and we couldn’t ask for better accommodations. They have an awesome breakfast every morning and the view of the Mississippi is breathtaking!

We chose this inn and resort based on recommendations of others. It was a relaxing stay as we needed time for some R & R after a lot of hours at our jobs. What a perfect resort to do this at! We booked the Mississippi Suite and it did not disappoint! With the hot tub facing the Mississippi River and our screened in porch we enjoyed many sunsets inside the porch and daily gourmet breakfasts while enjoying a nice fire in our fireplace! Birgit and Slobo were such a warm and personable couple and gave us tips about Galena during our stay. Their dining room was very quiet and beautiful and the food and service were excellent! Best Beef Wellington and Scallops we’ve ever had! After dinner we went outside to watch the sunset by their outdoor fireplace on the patio. We can’t say enough about this beautiful resort and can’t wait to go back !!!

Highly recommend the Goldmoor for anyone wanting to get away from it all! This place is peaceful, beautiful, and romantic. We felt like we were royalty while we were here! Staff is wonderful, atmosphere is top notch, breakfast was delicious. Room was spotless and perfectly appointed. We ate in the restaurant and it was amazing as well. A true gem hidden in the hills outside of Galena! I wouldn't think twice about staying here again!

We stayed in the Winston suite and it was awesome!! Great room, bed , whirlpool, gourmet breakfast brought to your room. This place is the place to stay!! We will again. We have been to Galena many times before but had not stayed here. Their restaurant is rated #1 in Galena for a reason!! Relax and enjoy!!

We absolutely loved staying at Goldmoor. It was a perfect, romantic escape. From the views, to the food, everything was relaxing, and luxurious, yet still had a personal touch. The owners and staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. We will definitely be visiting again!

The Goldmore Inn, my review I recently stayed at the Goldmore Inn me and my lovely girlfriend really enjoyed our stay finding the Goldmore Inn to be an exceedingly exceptional Romantic Resort. I feel compelled to share our story of this extraordinary Inn for other people seeking the absolute best. My intentions when I selected The Goldmore Inn was to bring my girlfriend to the most beautiful charming place possible in illinois, after exhaustive research I selected The Goldmore Inn which we found to be an excellent choice. When booking I took the advise of the inn’s owner Birgit and stayed in one of two cabins they have on site. The most delightful rustic cabin on the edge of the woods with exceptional views we really loved our accommodations. I informed Birgit that I was looking for a local artist to serenade us on this romantic getaway, Birgit willingly invested her time and went the extra mile securing a wonderful women with a portable piano accompanied by beautiful vocals, the inn set this serenade up at the delivery of our morning breakfast, this place is absolutely amazing. The Goldmore Inn is nestled right on the Mississippi river, with glorious views in every direction. The Goldmoor inn has an exceptional restaurant for dinner within the Inn, we enjoyed a superb dinner during our stay the service was excellent and the food was delicious. We spent our first afternoon after check-in, walking through the countryside, enjoying horse farms and beautiful views of the river, you could not ask for a more romantic place in a country setting. I booked my stay 30 days in advance which is enough time to secure the accommodations you desire but during the fall their busy season 2 or 3 months advance booking would be advised. If you are looking to impress your partner in what I consider one of the most romantic, charming, beautiful and authentic bed and breakfast in all of Illinois then I strongly recommend The Goldmore Inn, you will not regret staying here. If you are looking for a piece of heaven to fall in love this is the place, me and my beautiful girlfriend Margaret can attest to this.
