Midway Motel - Richmond

The room was spotless and serviced daily. The TV screen was a massive 55 inches! The bedding was very comfortable- the facilities were excellent. The air con was very efficient. It is located in a servo but I never heard the trucks and road trains pull in. Hot meals are available from 4pm and a roaring trade is done with the locals- that is always a very good sign. You can eat in or have a take out meal. There are several daily specials and quite a comprehensive choice on the main menu. There is a good range of items in the shop area. This place is a one stop shop! I thoroughly recommend this motel.

Rooms are well appointed and sound proof could not hear the vehicles at the service station or driving passed. Rooms need better cleaning with alcohol tin found under bed and dust under bed. Damage to bedside table. Doors need better locking system and latches. Parking bays need to be numbered so you can park vehicle directly outside room. Watch out for an early knock on door or cleaners coming in and waking you up. Seriously wait until person’s check out. Breakfast burger was awesome and coffee awesome.

We stayed at this motel on 9 October 2021. This is a relatively new motel with the look of a good modern motel in the rooms. There is one only upholstered chair in the room with "very stained" upholstery. If I was managing this motel, I'd swap it out for a wooden chair or a leather chair as the existing chair brings down the tone of the room. In fact, in these days of COVID you feel reluctant to touch it or sit on it. Very modern bathroom. However, like most motels these days, the shower floor was extremely slippery when wet. I'm astounded there aren't lots of falls when having showers in motels, but nobody seems to be reporting them! This was one of the most modern looking rooms we had in the various motels we overnighted in Western Queensland. Room was very quiet overnight and this was a bonus as the attached service station is open 24 hours a day. We chose to eat dinner in the bistro at the Mud Hut Hotel just down the road in Goldring Street. Friendly service and good food, and well worth making the trip down the street for dinner.
