It was really a good choice of a hotel to celebrate my husband's big, big birthday. We liked everything - rooms were spacious and quiet, pool and spar facilities excellent, breakfasts were good as well as evening meals. But best of all were hotel people - very helpful and friendly. We were lucky to be looked after from the very first moment by Laura from reception. During the whole stay she made sure that we were happy and even presented my husband with a birthday card. Thank you very much for that. We really did feel as being at home. But there was one thing I personally could not be accustomed to - the design of a shower cabin both in a room and in a changing room: before you manage to adjust temperature of water you are completely cold (or hot) wet because of the position of control panel. It would be more convenient to have control tabs not at the back but on the left or right. That mentioned I would say again that we liked our stay immensely and would like to return.

STAFF: Breakfast on the first morning was not good. The ‘manager’ was rude and we felt like an inconvenience. Two staff had an argument in the middle of the dining room over the business. Reception staff were mostly friendly except one who was very abrupt. ROOM: Clean and comfortable. The air conditioning unit made an almighty rattle which was annoying over night. We left the ‘please service the room’ sign on the door at 9:30am, and by 5pm it had still not been cleaned. FOOD: We had breakfast x2 and evening meal x2. Cooked Breakfast was disappointing for the price. It also took ages to come (45 mins after ordering one morning). The evening meal was delicious though. The 2nd evening meal was a real disappointment. After being seated, the kitchen decided to stop taking orders. We ended up waiting nearby 90 mins to place an order. OVERALL: This is our fourth stay here. Everyone other time we’ve been very impressed. This time, however, we were left disappointed and frustrated by the service we received.

The staff were exceptional helpful, from moving our room to accommodate my needs , to asking their maintenance staff to fix my husband’s broken glasses The food was excellent and catered well for my food intolerances It was a wonderfully comfortable base in a fabulous location. Highly recommended

Not great. No parking available and told to park else where or in the hotel car park next door.
Don’t support Apple Pay, you need physical cards (which we don’t have).
Booked breakfast when we checked in, but when we went down in the morning we were told the restaurant was full and told to eat elsewhere - the guy was quite rude. The funny thing was the restaurant was half empty. What hotel can’t serve all their guests with breakfast, even with a reservation?
The monsoon shower was very low, level with my nose (I’m 6ft) so a crouching to kick start the day.

Excellent hotel. Lovely spa. Great location. We stay here quite often. Sadly the standard of the restaurant is very variable and the service in the restaurant is slow. This is the week point of the hotel. Long waits for coffee, toast and butter. To be fair, during December and March the full English breakfast was very good and there was a lovely vegetarian breakfast with grilled haloumi, mushroom, spinach, tomatoes and beans. Sadly on this occasion the English breakfast was not good, bacon was very salty, leathery and dry. In my opinion, the veg breakfast is disappointing, just 2 very dry veg sausages with a mushroom, beans and a tomato. For some reason the breakfast pastries are no longer served warm.

We chose what we thought was the best room in the best hotel in Richmond. It was indeed a very nice hotel, and it was a nice room. But it was cold when we arrived. The heating did not work in our room - and presumably had not been working for a while. The air conditioning unit only cooled down…and was a continual fan that we didn’t want. After several visits to reception - not what you want or expect at the best hotel and in one of the nicest rooms - we were eventually supplied with plug in radiators. This worked and meant we were not even colder the next morning. I am not sure what else we could have done. But it was not what we wanted or we expected when we arrived. There were a few excuses offered…but in many ways that’s not fair on the reception staff - it’s not their role to repair the heating or check the rooms… It was our first ever visit to Richmond and to the Harbour Hotel…unfortunately I don’t think we will be hurrying back

The hotel room - Superior was lovely. Although one of the towels was dirty. The problem we had was the food choices in the restaurant on a Sunday evening were very limited. There was something like a 6pm cut off for roast dinners. Then you were pretty much left with burgers or fish and chips - it was average pub food not what we expected from a 4 star hotel. Tables not cleared - waited 30 minutes then had to ask. This was acknowledged by restaurant and reception staff. The menu contradicted the menu displayed on the website. Otherwise, pool and spa facilities nice. As the hotel was fairly busy it was definitely cosy in the jacuzzi and Sauna. Hot tubs - 2 in use were too busy to use. Bar staff were very nice when we sat to have a drink before the meal. Breakfast no salt and pepper on our table or the person next to us. Having no table cloths on tables in the evening made it look cheap to me.

Need to go up and down a lot of stairs before reaching the lift. Even some floors are in between lifts!
