I have stayed at the Richmond Hill Hotel at least a dozen times over the last few years in nearly every room type. I now indulge in the Georgian suites when I’m there for leisure because the suite is perfect for rest and work. The staff are lovely, and the location is excellent for the view over the hill, the park, and the bus stop a few paces away to take you into town. It’s one of my favorite places to visit.

The Staff checking in were great, and checked our room and allowed us to get into our room at 11.00 (as it was ready) instead of 3.00pm. The room was lovely and very clean with a huge bed. My only complaint was that when (after a wedding) nearby, we were told that the bar had called last orders at 12.30am even though the it’s stated as being open to 1.00am, and that room service finished at 10.00pm (so no drinks available per se?) This is a huge hotel in a very up market part of London, and to think that there is no room service after 10.00pm does not make sense (let alone business sense) and the bar calls last orders at 12.30am to even buy drinks from the bar to personally take to our room? Luckily after me telling the reception staff my frustrations with the hotel info saying that the bar is advertised to close at 1.00am they did actually call my room, and say that we could come down and buy drinks to take to my room? I’m sure in the Summer season (not Feb) this would never have been an issue, but in all reality, a hotel in such an area, should be switched on to making their money from room service transactions? Even at 12.30 there seemed to be a lot of hotel staff in reception and about the hotel to accommodate the guests needs, and allow them to order drinks whether they are from the bar (directly) or room service? They are just following the rules you have set, so you need to have a think about how you make your money as a Hotel!

Great place to stay! Just up the hill from Richmond proper. It has a fabulous bar and restaurant, is just steps from some great trails for walking and the staff is awesome. So comfortable!

My son got married here, every thing went exactly to plan as the bride and groom had several meetings with the event manager, who was most helpful. We had 140 guests, our only complaint was that the time it took for the food to arrive at the tables. The first served had finished before the last table to be served. Breakfast the following day was excellent. The bedroom was very comfortable. The staff were very good and overall the service was pleasant. My main complaint was the cost of the drinks, a zero Peroni was £6, and a small bowl of nuts were also £6! What a rip-off. For that reason I am only awarding 4 stars.

An hotel in a perfect location. A very warm and friendly welcome upon arrival, . Extremely comfortable rooms,. Excellent buffet breakfast service , so many choices.

We only booked the basic room, as we knew we wouldn’t be spending much time in it, however it was still lovely. Comfortable bed, wonderful shower. Tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water (included in the room cost). Plenty of plugs (& by both sides of the bed), usb ports and a wireless charger, hairdryer and safe. Plus a plug near the mirror (the amount of rooms who don’t have this, which is always a pain when you’re trying to dry your hair with a hairdryer). The staff on reception and in the dining area were wonderful. We arrived about 12, and even though check in wasn’t until 3 a room was available which was a great way to start the weekend. Parking was also included in the price, when we arrived there were plenty of spaces, although when we left there weren’t too many free. Our package included dinner, bed and breakfast, the food was fantastic at both meals (I’ll review the restaurant separately), plenty of choice at breakfast…hot food, plus the normal cereals, but also various yogurts, fruits, pastries, a very high standard. The location was perfect too, we walked into Richmond via the river, also navigated the buses to Hampton Court Palace, stopping at Kingston upon Thames on the return. Overall a wonderful stay and highly recommended.
