I stayed at the Fasano Rio before and back then I was not so happy with the service provided. However due to the good location I wanted to give it another try. Unfortunately I have just realized that the service is still not at a level of a luxury hotel. Some positive aspects: As mentioned The location of the hotel is good, right on the beach of Ipanema. The concierge team was already very good at my last stay, and again they did a great job. I would like to thank them for their great support. Some points with room for improvement: The service is not up to the standard of a luxury hotel. The Fasano groups claims to be the best hotel chain in South America and on par with the best hotels in the world, but unfortunately here the service is not good. At the pool, there were few guests and many staff members, but they prefer to chat among them instead of helping guests. I only asked for a towel. But this was completely ignored. Also at breakfast the service is not good. Only one waiter (Morgulio?) was good. The manager did not greet guests, did not take care of them and also the waiters never looked if guests wanted something. I had to stand up and look for jam at other tables as no one would help. I was in a use, but the breakfast took me over 45 minutes due to the almost inexistent service. Of course these are first world problems, but again, the hotels claims to be top, so they should really improve their service. At the moment they deliver a service on budget hotel level. The rooms are getting old and dated, a renovation should be envisaged. Conclusion: if you care about service, avoid the Fasano Rio. If you want to see pretentious people (guests and staff…), then you might like it…
