A stay at the Auberge Sur Mer was just the experience my wife and I were hoping for during our first visit to the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. The very welcoming staff took great care of us, cheerfully fulfilling our every request. The rooms are not large but they are thoughtfully appointed and up-to-date while respecting a centennial heritage. An don't visit the boutique unless you have lots of space in your luggage. Two features really stood out: our private balcony overlooking the rich estuary shore and a sweeping expanse of river, with hundreds of migratory birds (and a very large seal) passing by; and the Auberge's restaurant, April. The meals were simply excellent and the service was adept, attentive, and friendly. We enjoyed our stay so much that we juggled the rest of our itinerary to remain another night. Quiet, pet friendly, easy beach access, nearby walking trails and viewpoints. Blissful.

Pretty rooms newly renovated right on the St Lawrence. The restaurant however is overpriced for what tou get with few options. Charging for bread is rather stingy!

2 nuits au motel au rez de chaussé. Cuisinette avec chaudron, vaisselle, frig, micro-onde, toaster, bouilloire, cafetiere... Lit confortable. Chambre mis au gout du jour. Propreté A1 . Salle de bain correct. La vue est superbe et le secteur tres calme. Beau secteur pour la marche. Nous y retournerons.

Et excellent centre de santé pour soins et massages Avons eu la chance de séjourner dans la nouvelle partie côté fleuve Nous allons y retourner l’an prochain c’est certain et réserverons 3 nuitées plutôt que deux Auberge très bien entretenue Merci encore

We stayed in the main building as it was a last-minute booking and the motel was full. The room was comfortable and we had a little balcony. Sat outside watching the herons with binocs and a glass of wine before dinner, perfect. Staff lovely, restaurant meal was fabulous. Especially vegetarian dish. All in all, can't wait to stay again.

L’emplacement est magnifique et quelle vue sur le fleuve, mais c’est tout! La chambre est vieille avec des dalles de plafond tachées, la plomberie des toilettes et de la douche qui fuie toute la nuit, pas de Clim ni d’ascenseur, ne venez donc pas avec de gros bagages. Les lits grinces et l’insonorisation inexistante. Donc si ce n’est pour la vue, je ne recommande pas. Comment peut-on encore louer de telles chambres de nos jours.

The location of the Motel’s room front of the sea very nice. Bed sheets be white and clean room although a bit old building accommodations are fine
Dinner at April good but fees 4$ for 1 mini bread ridiculous! Fish of the day salmon very good and dessert with strawberries of season super!
Love this aera and village of Notre Dame du Portage by the sea. Nice discovery for me!
