As we checked out of Marriott Pittsburgh City Center (Our Con Hotel for Anthrocon 2024) on Monday July 8th before going to The Flight 93 National Memorial, we knew we were gonna be 80 miles away in Shanksville for most of the day. We called this hotel to let them know we would check in late Monday evening, using Bonvoy Redemption and we were guaranteed. After coming back from Flt. 93 National Memorial (A MUST VISIT), I bought last minute gifts in Pittsburgh alongside my Anthrocon roomie and friend Bob, who was visiting from Boston - we then met a couple local furry friends and had a final dinner at Haufbrauhaus Restaurant Pittsburgh before saying goodbye to the amazing city of Pittsburgh after a week of touring the city, museums and attending the world’s largest furry convention “Anthrocon” (17,639 attendees with over $100,000 raised for GreyPaws Sanctuary for senior dogs) it was time to head home to L.A. and this hotel satisfied our needs. Bob had to get me to Pittsburgh Int’l at 5am Tuesday morning (for 7am flight to Chicago O’Hare, connection to LAX) So, we arrived after 10pm and got in our room thanks to Kathleen at the Front desk - just an hour before the power outage, which caused me to not get any undies washed and dry. It was not the fault of staff, they did their best. However, I’m glad I had my fursuit bag and backpack sorted before the outage. The power did come back up before 2am and I got maybe three hours (maybe less) before checking out and Bob driving me off to the airport. It was a smart choice versus staying downtown for one more night. Staff friendly and supportive. I would return - FOUR CLAWS UP!!!! Thanks for reading my review of Fairfield Inn Pittsburgh Airport. I had no choice but to check in at Red Roof Inn Plus because all other hotels were booked solid due to an event going on in the area. The room was absolutely horrendous, the carpets had been urinated on and the room smelled so awful it was hard to breathe. The television didn't turn on, nothing worked except for the air conditioner, the floors were sticky and every surface looked unclean and full of dirt and rust. I tried to clean up with antibacterial wipes just to get through the night but it didn't help much. The head boards on the bed were sticky and smelled strange and the air conditioner and mirror were covered in sticky candy from a child who stayed in the room before us. The childs hand prints were everywhere and that means the room wasn't cleaned before us. At check in there was a large monitor on the wall that showed camera footage of every room showing the bed view. (No privacy) The staff do not care about your concerns so just avoid the place entirely. I left early because I couldn't stand being there any longer.

After checking in, we went to our room - which was very clean and a perfect place to stay for the weekend. We were lucky to be given a room with a jacuzzi, which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use. The breakfast in the morning was great! Waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, prepackaged croissant/English muffin sandwiches, juice and tea and coffee. It was excellent. The only downside was how small the eating area was, but it really wasn’t too bad. The woman who checked us in was very nice and the man (who I believe is the manager) was also very nice and helpful when we had questions. Only about a 15 minute drive to downtown Pittsburgh. Would certainly stay here again!

This place is gross. I stayed 2 nights mid June in a non smoking room reeked of cigarettes. I’m a non smoker so it wasn’t gross that I wasn’t put in a new room I was just told “they’ll make a note of it”. And when I looked at my bank statements later in there was an extra $25 charge. Apparently they found a small stain on a sheet which results in being charged for a new set. That’s kinda messed up. Especially since I found hair and old soap on the tub. I dont know why a housekeeping manager is charging extra money they’re clearly not thoroughly cleaning. I wouldn’t stay here. This place isn’t for travelers. This isn’t the scariest place I’ve ever stayed. The staff is not friendly. Not a single employee was wearing a mask but that didn’t stop them from YELLING at customers for not wearing them while walking thru their office. I found this out when I was locked out of my room. To the owner/manager- maybe your staff should lead by example first? Tell them to cover their face (especially if they’re going to yell) while at their job!!

I always start a review with the positives. I also don't like to be part of the problem but part of the solution and try to always offer helpful suggestions if I make a valid complaint. That said... The room at the Holiday Inn PIT Airport was PRETTY clean. I saw dark, long hairs on the bathroom floor (my hair is short and blonde,) and in the tub which led me to think the bathroom wasn't clean. However, the toilet and sink were seemingly wiped down and plenty of towels were accessible. The beds are comfy, the rooms are large, and we appreciate the outdoor pool in the warmer months. My husband and I stay here quite often, as many as 4 times a year or more, often with a multi-night stay, and we enjoy using the pool. The location for us is convenient to restaurants, shopping and the airport. Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport in general meets our needs. The breakfast is very good. Lots of a variety of hot foods and coffee. The waitstaff is always helpful in bringing out supplies, refilling coffee, hot food, a ”to go” bag if needed, etc. That all said, there is this very heavy set MEAN blonde lady with glasses that makes us cower and cringe each time we enter the hotel. We DON'T want to ask her for anything as she ALWAYS makes us feel like we are BOTHERING her. She seems to work the day shift, from early morning til 3 p.m. or so, as we have noticed and we try to make my requests and ask questions AFTER she is gone for the day. How ridiculous is this?!! Case in point: During one particular stay, I asked for more bars of soap for our room. I prefer bar soap. I shouldn't have to feel ”sheepish” about asking. They are mini and not full-sized bars of soap. We usually stay an average of 3 nights when we come to town and the hubs and i prefer bar soap to the bodywash and need more than one teensy bar for the two of us between the shower and sink for 3 days of usage. Get this one....She told us to use the bodywash in the containers on the shower wall and asked us if we had checked to see if the container of body wash was full!!!?? She seems to like to provoke an ARGUMENT! Then she preceded to tell us how she was instructed to hand out the minimum as in the case of the soap. I was thinking: ” Lady, please just open the drawer behind you and give us the dang soap!!” It's NOT a difficult request. I'm thinking: What happened to the old adage, ”The customer is always right?” The staff certainly should not ARGUE with the customer. A hotel front desk clerk works in the hospitality business and should provide the customer with ”hassle free” service. NOT! We don't ask for much. We don't ask for the room to be serviced with fresh towels, etc. during our usual 2 to 3 night stay. Was asking for mini bars of soap too difficult of a request? Today in our hotel room, I went to wash my hands after leftovers from an early lunch (around 11:00 a.m.,) to find that there was NO WATER. It had obviously been shut off. Why? We called the front desk to find out what happene
