Hotels Near St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Rochester

My wife and I stay at this location in Rochester when we go to visit family (about 2-3 times a year). Our stays have always been exceptional, even during the Covid pandemic, during which time Covid restrictions were explained up front at check-in. There are a few employees that recognize us, and spend a few minutes talking with us. Associates at the front desk are always accessible, and address any concerns that we might have, even if it’s just telling them that the coffee urn in the lounge is empty. I’ve noticed that everyone, including maid service staff and maintenance workers always seem to be in a good mood, and interactions among associates is always pleasant. Rooms are clean and comfortably arranged. The pool and exercise room are clean and an adequate size. Morning breakfast is always stocked, with a selection that would satisfy most diets. I have no negative comments whatsoever about this location.

we normally stay here when in the area for work as it is an excellent location and near the interstates. the airport is about 6 miles away so not truly an airport hotel but close enough that is is not to far a stretch. the rooms are updated and clean. the hotel is quiet and the staff are excellent from the front desk to the lounge to the housekeepers. i highly recommend this Marriott if in the area.

We always stay at Staybridge Suites when visiting Rochester and have always enjoyed it because of it’s location on the river. If you have a river view room there’s a great view. The room is very large with a good little kitchen (which we never used) and a totally separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed. BUT a word of caution: Right now the hotel is undergoing some kind of renovation on the 3rd floor. i kept answering our door but the sound turned out to be construction on the floor below. The constant use of the elevator by the construction people made for long waits for the elevator so we had to use the stairs. By fair the worst trend is that there is NO room cleaning service on the weekends, so if you come on a Friday night you can expect your room to look kind of dreary through Sunday. I don’t care for this trend at all. They don’t even change the towels. Ugh. The TV is very hard to work and we had to call the desk twice as we were settling in—once because there were NO hangers and once because there was no hairdryer. So, if you want a hotel that’s up and running, this is not a particularly good time to stay at the Staybridge. There are no extra amenities here such as a magnifying mirror etc.

The Hilton Garden Inn is located within the Rochester University campus and only 5 minutes away from the wonderful and historic Mount Hope Cemetery. The hotel has a nicely decorated and welcoming lobby, with a restaurant on site that serves breakfast in the morning (my visit included the breakfast plan since I do not like going to look for breakfast in the morning). There were two comfortable double beds and a nice large bathroom in the room. Bed Linen and towels were clean and fluffy. The breakfast off the menu was good. I did not use the buffet but it did not appear to have a large variety. The hotel is a good jump off point to explore the Erie Canal, the fall colours of the Finger Lake District or just to walk along the Genesee River waterfront trail (which is lovely for walking and riding). So now for my issue with the housekeeping policy (not the housekeepers I would like to add). And yes, I am going to get political here! We were told upon arrival that because of Covid the rooms would be cleaned on the fifth day of stay or if we request it by calling before 8am the day we wanted to have the room cleaned. OK, policy understood! Some people can go for days without needing the room cleaned, I am not one of those people. One of the things I like most about staying in hotels is having daily housekeeping and arriving back in the room with the bed made and fresh towels if I leave them in the bath tub (which I do not do everyday). So twice we called, before 8 am to make the appointment. The phone rang for a long time, eventually we spoke to the front desk and the person took the room number and confirmed the request. Twice the room housekeepers never came and the room was never cleaned. What the hotel and the Hilton chain, as a whole, will not freely admit is that they have turned housekeeping into a ”gig” economy. The housekeepers are suppose to wait each day for a call. If they get a call, they work, if they not, no work. No work, no pay. So, to the surprise of no one, those mostly women of color were smart enough to get a regular and better paying job else, with guaranteed hours. That has left a smaller pool of available housekeepers. The hotel chain is making excessive profits on the backs of the lowest paying people in the hotel business. In addition, they do not tell you when you book that the room rate does not include housekeeping (so ask before booking), they do not amend the rates because they no longer clean the rooms. Same rates less service! There is simply something wrong with that business model that I cannot move on from as a traveler. In the future, I will be vetting the house keeping policy for all hotels before book.

This hotel is in an excellent location right next to the Rochester International Airport. It is easy to get to and from the airport in a matter of seconds. The front desk staff was very polite and accommodating. My flight left before breakfast was served so I cannot comment on that. The room was spacious and had all I needed.

We entered the building and there was a gentleman at the front desk area on the phone and a couple of ladies at the breakfast area chatting. We waited a couple of minutes for the guy to get off the phone, when one of the ladies walked up and asked how she couple help us. We had no indication that she worked there when we walked in. The room was on the small side, dated and the furniture in it was worn. The table in the room we were given was on its last legs. The beds and fridge were fine though. There was a microwave that we didn't use. There was also a Keurig and 4 coffee/tea pods. The bathroom was subpar. The tub was dinged up. There was a rubber mat in the tub that partially lifted when you used the tub. Not sure if it was a sticker or a rubber mat and I didn't dare to lift it up to check. Surprisingly, all the products in the bathroom were Dove and not the normal HIE stuff. The pool was closed. Breakfast was fine, 2 types of eggs and meats to choose from as well as breads, fruits, cereals. The pancake machine was broken.

After being unhappy at another chain location, I switched from my usual brand and joined Radisson Rewards for this booking, with a great rate. Arrived here from ROCHESTER International Airport by LYFT ride, not knowing how long I would be staying, or what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. Located in a nice area, on busy Route 31, Monroe Ave , East of the city, but still close to all major attractions, like GeorgeEastman House, Memorial Art Gallery, Highland Park, Rochester Museum and Science Center, by car, also on city bus routes. My comfy accessible room is roomy and restful, with a King bed and roll-in shower, many safety bars in bathroom. There is a window unit for climate control , Microwave and fridge in my room, and a 40 inch flat screen TV that has a sharp picture with premium channels. Room and lobby WIFI works well., except with my Apple phone. Cozy family reading area with adult and children's books and a single computer/printer business center in lobby. I was happy to find a small coin operated laundromat and a tiny gym, with two machines. Amenities include a very good hot and cold breakfast served in lobby, with 24/7 refreshment and coffee/tea bar. Spunkmeyer cookies at desk, a small convenience store for essentials, including frozen entrees. Smoke free premises, however there is an outside seating area, with wooden Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for smokers. Four Electric car charging stations make this a great location for modern savvy travelers who care about the environment. Coffee-Tea stations in room and lobby were well stocked. The diverse cheerful and helpful staff keep all common areas very clean; all of them are very helpful and accommodating . I enjoyed conversing with International guest clientele in several languages, including Japanese tourists. With rewards member rates, its a great deal and price point. Ethnic restaurants and shopping nearby, including Pittsford Plaza and Eastview Mall . I recommend this hotel to all traveler friends in this area, and beyond, including my 50,000. travel chat buddies on Facebook, Yelp, and TripAdvisor, without hesitation. Rochester doesn't have a lot of good hotel options in the immediate vicinity, and the hotel I used to use has since went downhill and re-flagged as a bottom-tier budget brand. So, during my most recent visit to the region to visit family, I had to expand my search radius to find a place to stay for the night before I flew back home. That search led me to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Henrietta. It's located in a busy commercial area with plenty of restaurants, stores, and Marketplace Mall within easy reach. The hotel is typical Hampton Inn, which is exactly what I wanted for this brief overnight stay - clean, comfortable, and modern, with no unpleasant surprises. Pleasant surprises, however, are welcome - like being upgraded to a king suite due to my need for a tub/shower combination in the bathroom. I very much appreciated that, even if it was just myself for the night. My suite, 442, is typical of Hampton Inn & Suites and their suite units - sofa and upholstered chair on one side of the room, with the bed on the other. In the middle is a long desk/table which separates the two areas. There's a swivel-mount TV mounted above the desk which can be angled to face either the bed or the sofa. There's a wet bar with microwave and refrigerator as you enter the suite, with the bathroom and vanity area next to the bedroom. The suite was very clean and everything was in good working order. The upholstered chair and desk had some cosmetic wear, but nothing major. The TV was on the old side, but in the morning I noticed brand new TVs in boxes being delivered to the hotel, so that will soon be a moot point. One note: If you order food delivery, you'll have to come down to the lobby to pick it up - delivery drivers can't drop it off at your door. The hot breakfast buffet is up and running, and there's a nice-sized breakfast room. I still chose to take mine back to my room, for obvious COVID-related reasons. Hotel staff was very professional and friendly, and once again I have to thank them for the suite upgrade. And they have an airport shuttle, so proximity to the airport itself wasn't a concern. I don't visit the area more than once or twice a year, but the Hampton Inn & Suites in Henrietta is now my go-to Rochester hotel whenever I do visit. They offer clean, reliable lodging with a friendly and professional staff. With their airport shuttle service, it's also an excellent alternative to the less desirable hotels located at the airport.
