I’ve stayed here about 6 times, it’s good for a last minute resort when you’re out of options, the 24/7 reception is good, but the staff can be rude. They don’t know how to deal with problems, there were people shouting through out the night and an old lady complained and we got the blame when we were asleep, they should check which room the noise is coming from. The manager swore at me and called me deaf and I actually do have a hearing problem. Stank of **** and cigarettes. Don’t stay here if you want a good night sleep especially on the weekends. They also try to charge you extra for everything lol loads of Karen’s here as well. Place is clean tho but rooms about a 4/10

Booked this hotel without reading the reviews luckily as we was very impressed with our stay. We arrived early in the morning they was welcoming and quick checked in and had a beer. Our rooms was in the annex and it was lovely and clean, the bed was absolutely lovely and comfortable, the bathroom was clean, fresh towels .. air con/ heating worked a treat. We didn’t have food so can’t review on that . When we arrived back late there was a wedding and my first thought was the noise but once in our room we didn’t hear a thing. Would definitely recommend and revisit ..

We booked a night here and based on *********** reviews it looked ok. When we arrived we was quite shocked and to be fair disappointed. There bedroom needed a lot of work, there was dirt and marks everywhere - we felt very unclean. Their was mould in the grouting, ring marks on the bathroom surface, scale all over the taps and holes in the blinds… to say the least! The air conditioner was very loud and the bed extremely uncomfortable. The receptionist was not friendly, was rude and not at all helpful. Breakfast was not included but was an additional option - but it looked terrible so we were grateful to not have stayed for breakfast! Was loud and can hear through the walls to the room next door. Terrible smell too. There was parking but then we left to go out for dinner after being told the restaurant was closed, and came back and there was no where to park. Defo will not be returning. Expect some sort of compensation - was not worth the money at all! Sorry to say this!

My wife and I decided that we needed a short break away in the Indian Summer weather we were getting, so I did a search on *********** for properties in the Southend-on-Sea area, and this one looked to be good value for money. I did my usual checks of having a look at the location of the hotel on Google Maps and also Streetview, and was a bit concerned that it was located near an industrial estate and very close to the airport. I had a read of some of the TripAdvisor reviews, some of which gave it the thumbs up, so we decided to book it as the two nights were only going to cost £126 on ***********, which was the rate for a double room without breakfast. When we arrived, although I had looked at the hotel on Streetview and other photos, I was fearing the worst, as the kerb appeal of the hotel is not too good to say the least. I parked up in the **** filled and rubbish strewn car park and we went into reception to book in. This was a really easy procedure and we were soon checked in by the pleasant receptionist. Our room was across the car park from reception in the annex. First impressions of the room were good as it was very large and looked immaculate, with a good standard of decoration and maintenance. Everything was there to make our two night stay quite a comfy affair. The bed was large, with a comfortable mattress, but the pillows were cheap polyester, and were uncomfortable and lumpy. We made do and didn’t complain or ask for better pillows, so don’t know if there were any better available. The bedding looked clean and fresh, however when we pulled the quilt back there was a long black hair on the sheet. It did initially gross us out, but as the bedding smelt fresh we assumed that it was from the head of the maid and simply got rid of it. We slept very well during our stay, and the hotel is very quiet, with only the occasional plane noise coming from the airport, but the sound is muted, so no real problem. There was plenty of kit to make a brew, and all of the crockery and kettle appeared clean, but we always wash them before use anyway. The TV was a large flat screen on an articulated arm, so no problems watching TV in bed of a night or in the room whilst getting ready to go out. The picture quality was also good. The ensuite was a good size, with a shower, washbasin and toilet. The shower cubicle was a fairly small square, and any person that is carrying some extra weight might find it a problem to shower properly, or even get in the shower in the first place. There was plenty of shower gel and hand soap in the ensuite. The towels were a good size, but had seen better days – one in particular was rather threadbare, although they were changed out for fresh, better quality ones on the second day of our stay. The shower didn’t have a non-slip mat, and was quite slippy, so care needs to be taken when having a shower. The ensuite could definitely do with a shelf as there is simply nowhere to put your washbag or anything else that you wan

Looks derelict on approach. Reception is bleak and bar was closed. Once in the room we discovered that the air con/heating was centrally controlled. It was the coldest day of the year and no heating. After the second call to reception they deliveed a fan heater. Barely adequate but at least it fended off hypothermia! We slept with pjs, socks and jumpers on. Breakfast was no better. A pitiful display of cheap food for which they were charging £9 per person. Insulting when the fruit juice cartons were priced at £1 on special offer from the local shop. Not worth the money and holiday inn just a mile or so away. Do yourself a favour and avoid it.

No welcome when arrived at the hotel. Looked abandoned and closed when we got there. Freezing cold everywhere no heating. Had a problem with the electric due to a piece of paper being shoved into the box management came to show us a card was needed and was very rude towards us about it. Bar area lights were all off and looked closed. Mouldy smell when you enter the hotel and through to the room. Staff were extremely rude accept for one lovely lady on reception that was really helpful. Lights in the hallway to the bedroom were all turned off had to use our phone torch to enter our room as we couldn’t see. Restaurant was closed but wasn’t made aware before arrival so had no access to food had to order in. Not recommend very over priced

Carpets old and stained. Bathroom flooded. Constant musky smell. No manager available. Receptionist took our details and said the manager will contact us. Still yet to receive any contact. It was that bad we couldn't even stay the night. Diabolical. Poor. Old.
