Just wanted to write a quick review about our check in!!! Our driver - Felix - wad amazing! We stopped at Dennery Fishing village to grab a drink and take in the view! Christal was amazing at check in! She was incredibly sweet and everything went smoothly! Our room - while dated - is very clean! We have enough towels, 2 double beds, as requested, and Christal even followed up with a phone call to the room to ensure our room was good! We grabbed a quick bite to eat at the buffet, which has a nice variety, and we are now enjoying a drink at the rooftop patio bar! It's going be a great week!

This resort was absolutely amazing. Read all kinds of negative reviews but that was not our experience. The food was good. In the restaurant our server Alma was so sweet, and our bright spot when we ate there!! Our cleaning lady was Sandra J and was so friendly and did an amazing job in our room. She was quick, and attended to our room. She always had a smile for you. The front desk clerk Christal was so accommodating and knew anything about the hotel. She was clear, concise and knew everyone’s name when they came to the front desk. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It’s so sad that it will be closed on 30 April. Thank you starfish for being an amazing place to stay and made our holiday the best stay ever!! I will be back to Saint Lucia.

I just came back from the Starfish and had an amazing time! This was one of the best vacations I’ve had in a long time, and so I felt compelled to write a review. This hotel is so quaint and so much charm and character! It is an older style hotel, but it has that quintessential Caribbean vibe. It’s small enough to feel cozy. The rooms were clean and safe. No significant complaints. I had an amazing view of the ocean. The beach is right on site and it is phenomenal! I think this section of the beach is nicer than the sections in front of the other, more expensive hotels down the *****, including the Sandals resort. The breakfast and lunch at the outside beach grill were good and you won't go hungry. The Rodney Bay Area is very safe and welcoming to tourists. It is nearby to walk to local restaurants and fairly inexpensive to get local food if you get bored with the hotel food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only comment here is that they were sometimes short-staffed because some staff were leaving for other jobs given the upcoming closure. I also met a wonderful group of new friends while staying at the Starfish. Overall, I had a fantastic vacation that I will always remember and treasure! If you have realistic expectations and are not expecting a 5 star experience, I think you will love the Starfish. I would go back if the Starfish if it were still going to be there. I feel sad that it is closing. I wish it weren't. I hope that all the staff find new jobs. Thanks again for the memories Starfish! ️

My adult son and I were due to stay at the Starfish last week, as we’d booked this vacation through Air Canada Vacations. This was our first vacation in over 10 years! We have never been to St Lucia before. After a 3 hour shuttle transfer from the airport to Rodney Bay, we arrived. It was late in the evening. After check in we requested some assistance with our baggage. The bellboy was an elderly man who immediately made a point of sharing with us, without any shame, how he didn’t expect a tip from us, because everyone says they’ll tip and they never do, and then they blank him the next day. This moaning from him continued all the way across the hotel and up to the third floor where our room was. He then decided to announce to us, as he opened the hotel room door, that we would probably complain about the room, as everyone staying at the Starfish complains about the rooms! I’m a lady in my 50s and my son is 24, we were literally stunned into silence. Well, he wasn’t kidding. The room was awful. We already made a point of emailing ahead to Starfish reservations to request two double beds instead of one king-size bed, because we are a mother and son travelling. My email was acknowledged by Starfish reservations. So you can imagine my horror and the embarrassment that was faced us when they’d deliberately gave us a room with a one bed. The room was mediocre at best. The decor was decades out of date and tired looking. The room was also small, and not in any way the “deluxe” that we had been led to believe when we booked it. The bathroom was also extremely small with cracked walls, old paint, and one towel. The room door was an effort to close and lock, and everything oozed shabbiness. The photos offered on the website are extremely misleading. The hotel is not like how it appears! My son and I returned to reception to raise our concerns that at the very least we needed either a second room, or an upgrade, or even a portable cot for my son to sleep on because we couldn’t share the same bed. Reception couldn’t have been more disinterested if they tried. They didn’t want to help us. They had no interest in wanting to help us, and on top of that were pretty darn rude. My son even said if they could find some spare pillows and blankets, he’d make himself a bed on the floor, naturally I was concerned about this because it was a tiled floor. Well the woman in reception at the time, who claimed to not be the manager and therefore couldn’t make any decisions, said it was against the rules to allow anyone to sleep on the floor. So we asked about a roll out bed, to which she literally left the reception and walked off and hid in the back room. We finally spoke with a manager, well a man came out from the back office, but who is was I’ll never know, as he was belligerent and not going to help us resolve this situation either! We decided to take a breath rethink the situation considering it was late in the evening and we had travelled 15 hours to get to this

A Great time the Caribbean at it's best. This hotel was a dream come true for us a great location in Rodney Bay, near the local people, on the beach, near shops and restaurants. The hotel is due to be demolished this year to become a HARD ROCK Hotel....it's a shame as it has a great atomosphere and although some things need tidying up renewing etc it has a speciality....It's hard working staff who work so hard all day everyday to keep you fed and watered...Theyre are very caring and were extremely understanding, patient, and caring towards my daughter who has Downs Syndrome, they couldn't do enough to make her and us happy,,,especially the Reception staff and Alma and he wonderful restaurant staff There are three bars open at varying times and restaurants open for dinner breakfast lunch, the choice especially for breakfast is huge. It's got a poolside bar and it just has a great feeling and vibe a bit of music playing during the day. There is random entertainment on some nights perhaps this could advertised better...but it does a job if you want to stay and chill. Their are trips a plenty via the hotel and excursion company NEXUS...Sunset Party Cruise, Island cruise and Quad Bike (get some practice first) The rooms are ok and though a bit tired they are spacious and have all you might need for a beach holiday. The hotel is popular with Canadians (lovely people) and Americans (also very nice) and Brits, it also hosts Carribbean people who have short weekend breaks (or longer ) at the Spa. Lots of great places to eat Razzamataz Spinnakers Wings and Tings alll within 10-15 minute walk. The beach runs along side the hotel a great walk 20 mins along the golden sand and blue sea, there are some water sports and place to sunbathe and have fun in the shallow water. It's sad as it probably has had its hey day but the hard working staff deserve a shiny new place to work in and carry on promoting the best of the Caribbean. I hope the change doesn't take too long as we would go back there in a heartbeat THANK YOU STARFISH staff and guests for a great time. REMEMBER The Caribbean is about relaxing taking your time, soon come, and chilling...it's not hurry up, stress out...

My husband and I stayed here in Oct of 2023. It was off season so the place was very quiet. We really enjoyed the entire week spent here. The beach is gorgeous, the staff is friendly and the room was comfortable. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view king room which was huge. The room was very clean and housekeeping comes everyday to clean it. The food was good and the Piton beer is awesome! We tried some restaurants just outside the hotel as well which were really good. St Lucia is safe so we did leave the resort a few times and we had no concerns. The only thing that was a little annoying were the beach hustlers. I understand that's the hustle but they were a little too much approaching you everyday. If that doesn't bother you then you have nothing to be worried about! We do recommend this resort and we will return in the future. Safe travels!

Do not listen to the people who came here expecting 5 star treatment. despite the fact its closing in a month we had a lovely time. the staff were all friendly despite seemingly short handed alot of the time. food was good with breakfast being the best meal of the day, something good was always available to eat and i'm a picky eater. location is perfect on a beautiful beach. tip....save your money, instead of going to pigeon island you can climb one of the piton's right beside the resort for free, takes you about 40 minutes and its a great workout.
