This hotel was warm and welcoming from the minute we arrived. The reception girls were great and a welcome cocktail was proved as a gift. We regularly drive from the UK to our place in Austria and this place was a first for us as a stop over. Lovely room(11) a wonderful buffet dinner(beef, Salmon, pork, pasta and more) and a fantastic salad bar. Cheap beer from the bar and delicious house Mosel also at exceptionally low prices. We booked half board and it was certainly worth it. The only thing some people may not like is the open plan toilet and shower in the bedroom, admittedly behind glass, but some may feel a lack of privacy. But after 34 years of marriage-it didn’t bother us🤣. We will happily return to this little gem.

The house smells unpleasantly musty everywhere, like cold fat in a chip shop. The buffet offered chewing-gum-like lamb. But there was no vinegar and oil for the salad. Instead of the candlelight dinner that we had booked, only the buffet was offered. The bottle of champagne in the room that was promised in the booking was not provided. The bowling alley was cheaper because it didn't work (doesn't really count...what's the point of cheaper then?). But you can make out an ancient mini golf course under the wild grass. The massage therapist has been absent for a while because she was pregnant (nobody noticed for 9 months, apparently). So there is no such thing. The information on the website is incorrect, so I would call it misleading. Where the 4 stars and the prices come from is explained in the same ones for me. It's better not to criticize the staff. And preferably in Dutch, as German seems to be the second language here. You get the answer: "Boss not here, what can I do about it?" Well, what can the guest do about it? They didn't want to call the boss and there was no one in charge. Very unprofessional reaction. Not recommended.

This hotel is certainly not worth 4 stars as stated. We had taken the walking package with 2x delicious dinner or buffet, breakfast, packed lunch, wellness and welcome drink included. Unfortunately, the wellness was not available, nor was there a delicious dinner (we had chosen this hotel for this), only the buffet, dried out meat in thick sauces. At 1945 they already asked to take dessert because they were closing the restaurant. 2000 are going to close, exactly a boarding school. If you ask why so early, the reason you get is: staff shortage; and we cannot divide ourselves into four because we also have to clear the room, prepare everything for breakfast, do the bar, the reception,...but I did pay for all this...it feels a bit like fraud. We reported this, but there was no one who could do anything about it, the person responsible was not there, the only thing we What we could do was fill out the satisfaction form, which we did. Unfortunately, we heard nothing more. The room was okay, spacious bathroom and a terrace, but we had paid extra for this.

The food is really not good, no kitchen, just frozen foods, worse than a canteen, buffet every day, no menus, no variety and we are kicked out of the restaurant at 8 p.m.! Sauna and other activities by reservation therefore inaccessible. The site is lying! To flee !

We felt very comfortable, we had three lovely days in this hotel. On the first evening there was a buffet, huge praise for the kitchen, everything was delicious ☺️. The breakfast buffet also had a large selection and you could explore the area with renewed strength. In the evenings there were one or two cocktails to relax in, yummy. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and relatively quiet, we felt very comfortable and if the weather had played along we would have stayed a day longer.

The nice things first: The welcome was nice. The hotel is very clean and hygienic. The breakfast buffet was very good. The town is absolutely pictoresque with a gorgeous church right across the street. Wi-fi was very decent. As for everything else: when we had to ring the hotel to inform them we were running late, we had to call three times before somebody answered the phone. When we arrived the reception was closed and I do mean CLOSED with an iron curtain. We had to go to the bar to get the bartender to man the reception. The rooms are adequeta but no more that that. The beds are narrow, neither the duvet nor the pillows were very good and the mattresses are too soft. The showers are so narrow you need to go through the doors sideways. And the light switches are an absolute mystery - every time you needed to turn on a light, you had no idea which switch would be correct. But by far the worst of all: the hotel is LOUD!! You can hear a mouse fart on a different floor. If somebody talks anywhere in the hotel, you can hear it clearly in my room. When people walked up and down the stairs, it sounded like a stampede. My radiator - although completely turned off - made loud metallic clangs at random (very efficient if you need to stay awake!). Everything outside the rooms is tiled without a hint of carpet, so every single sound is reflected, and all doors have absolutely zero insulation or rubber padding, so all sounds in the entire hotel reach your room without even having to try. I hardly got a minute's sleep the first night. The second night I was wise enough to use powerful ear plugs. When we wanted to check out the last morning there was actually someone at the reception(!) A guy was working on a computer. I said: "Hi, I'd like to check our of room so-and-so." "I need four or five minutes." Oh, do you?!?! Well, then I will just wait until you feel like interrupting what you're doing to deal with a customer, who might be in a hurry to catch a train for all you know! That's just downright rude and it settled my valuation at 2/5. The price was a ridiculous €200 a night. I would say half that amount would be a fair price. I'm definitely not coming back.

room was good, nice terrace, water, and very good bed and less pillows: no fridge (4 stars?), air conditioning, old carpet, old tapis plain super breakfast, dinner was ok, there was a choice, very slow service... but just about everywhere you feel like you are in the south staff was very friendly location is 3 km from Monschau on foot or bicycle very sloping, by car it was still 10 km was a beautiful experience, beautiful region recommended: take a boat trip on the Ruhr, super electric boat, safe in the room, free parking

Nicely renovated room, very friendly staff. Delicious food, good bed. Staff did everything they could to make us feel at home. The surroundings were beautiful. We experienced two noisy evenings, a private party in the village. The staff couldn't do anything about it, but they did everything they could to make it right for us. In short, we had a few great days there.
