It's good

This hotel is in a relatively quiet space, while near very busy traffic on Algonquin Rd, and IL-53. The building has some old quirks, but the rooms I got during a couple stays were perfectly maintained. It is a pretty small hotel, but it has a courtyard. I didn't realize it while booking beforehand, they have a bunch. of rooms with apartment-style balconies facing west. I'm going to look to check rates on those specifically next time.

No one was at the front desk when checking in, had to wait 20-30 minutes.

Be aware that this is an OLD hotel. In my stay both available elevators were not working, one of them was completely dead, another one was working only time to time. The room was relatively clean and OK, but no dark curtain was available and in the morning at 5am a bright sun was killing me. Also, you can see that throughout the hotel the carpeting was stained, several doors were damaged, a/c wasn't working well in the hall. The hotel was definitely not up to a standard of IHG hotels and not 2.5 starts quality as well.

Very nice older hotel that is being remodeled. Clean rooms, friendly staff and a very good location.

The property looks like it has been renovated, but it was done poorly. Walls and ceilings were falling apart at the seams. Hot water was warm at best

First, I'll start with the false advertisement about the indoor pool. I booked my room December 3rd 2023 and I received a phone call on December 28th from a lady that works for the hotel stating that the pool is not indoors but, is an outdoor seasonal pool and the lady was VERY RUDE over the phone. She waited weeks to call. She called on the last day I could cancel my reservation penalty free and two days before a holiday weekend. How was I supposed to find something different in less than 48 hours and for a good deal?! We check into the room and we walk into the room and there's no balcony. I specifically reserved a balcony room for my autistic husband who needs the fresh air flow. The man at the front desk was VERY RUDE to my husband and myself when I brought the wrong room situation up to him. I was OVER CHARGED for my room by over $40. The lock on the room door is broken, ice machine didn't work, Wifi didn't work very well, if at all. Elevator is scary, I don't recommend riding in it. I've never heard an elevator make those kinds of sounds. Coffee maker in room was broken. There were stains on the carpet and the bathroom sink wasn't very clean but, otherwise, the room was pretty clean.

Google pictures show INDOOR POOL AND JACUZZI the way it was some time ago. I spend few night here in the past and expected the same not just an over priced room by it self rwmove those google pictures asap
