Booked through their website. Called TWICE to try and pay to confirm booking. Was told to pay on arrival. Arrived to check in and was told the booking had been cancelled. They did have a room but wanted us to pay an extra £125. Staff were not helpful at all. We were attending a wedding and was left with no accommodation. We explained that we had called twice to try to pay and they would not accept!!!

Avoid avoid avoid! This hotel has a bad reputation and I should have read the reviews before coming as all the negative comments are totally accurate! The mattress was awful.. waking up with a bad back is not the greatest start to your morning but I was looking forward to breakfast at least..nope… rubber eggs, stale bread and no service! The waitress didn’t even bother to acknowledge we had entered the restaurant! Totally let down! Room was old fashioned, unclean and poorly maintained.. do not waste your money..

Enjoyable stay, hotel not far from the town centre, railway station close by, room small and compact, nice and warm, staff friendly and pleasant, breakfast was buffet style, normal stuff, bacon , sausage etc, plus cereal and yoghurts, fruit juices. The only thing, was that the shower In our room didn't work properly Apart from that, everything was very good. Would we stay again, yes we would .

I will start the the good points, the bed in room 212 was very comfortable. Room - terrible, door been smashed in at some point, needs decorating, draughty noisy windows, ripped wallpaper bathroom was very good though! Unless you want breakfast at 630am you’ll be lucky to find any thing on the cooked breakfast enjoyable! I went at 830 the fried egg was like rubber, the bacon could have soled my shoes, beans were vile, mushrooms dried up. I had toast and a yoghurt! The hotel is very disjointed looks in parts like it’s been painted then other parts is yellow wood chip. The outside looks so impressive but I wouldn’t stay again £75 B and B for a treat when visiting my friend not much of a treat.

So the room was beautiful but there was an issue with the savi-loo system. Every time anyone above or yourself flushed the loo the pump made the most horrible loud noise. Had no sleep. Went to reception 3am just to be told there just security and to see morning staff. So no offer of room change. Also I had a shower and the bath safety handle broke of from the wall. I e complained I feel I should get a refund for the room and they said no. This is not acceptable. Avoid avoid avoid. Now there just ignore me. This was my wedding night ruined.

This hotel is absolutely dreadful. The rooms are shabby and dirty. The shower fittings are invariably broken and hanging off the wall. The room I stayed in had a broken bolt to turn the shower on. But it gets worse, a lot worse. There was hair in my bed. The room was cold because the vent in the window had broken off and when I complained that there was no hot water to shower they wanted to charge me another fifty quid to move to another room. Whatever you do, don't even think about staying in this filthy pit with customer service that's non-existent.

This is my second visit to this Hotel, and I’ll definitely be back. The first time everything was very convenient for me and I was very impressed for the price and breakfast was a very relaxing pleasant experience with a good choice of everything and very good quality too, I know a decent sausage 🤣 I stayed in the hotel’s over the road building in a very nice room with every amenity. When I needed to book again I checked trip advisor to see if I should request a room in the main building where the reception/bar and breakfast is located . Wow 😮 I could not believe some of the reviews, I had to question if it was possible we were reviewing the same hotel 🤦‍♀️ I’m actually still here now my 3rd night and IMHO I can NOT fault it. The hotel resumé mentions it proximity to the motorway, personally I’d say it’s greater asset is its close proximity (with parking) to Romford centre and the train station all easy walking distance, or a good bus route, but it really ain’t worth it, the distance is nothing.

Its a very rundown Hogwarts. Should have read more reviews before booking. Did not appreciate the bait and switch - pictures of the newer hotel across the road so we booked on the strength of that, however we were in the "original" hotel was truly rundown. Meh. They could make it really nice if they wanted to.

I have been staying here for 14 months on and off . Overall the rooms are a good size , in need of decoration very dated . And the beds are the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced obviously cheap mattresses that are well over there best use . Also the WiFi is very poor throughout the building and also the Anex . My advice stay clear and book the Gidea park hotel do much more comfortable beds . Unfortunately this accommodation is booked for me through a company that uses the hotel for all its out of town workers. On a good note breakfast is ok, and included in the price .
