Couldn't really stay here but had breakfast and dinner. The location is perfect for scenic beauty. It is located some 10 kms away from the the main city. The staff and owner are very kind and humble. It also has a place for archery and bonefire.

I had the experience to stay at Lingkhar Lodge for three night and I didn't feel like leaving the place. Housed between two mountain ranges, overlooking a valley with natural scent in the air, the cottages offered were more than welcoming. The setting is terraced with vibrant flowers and creepers enlivening the space. The rooms are big with a gallery and adjacent sitting and dining room. I was awed with the design and smooth furnishings. The staff was courteous and catered to our needs. They went out of their ways to provide us what we needed as we had elderly family members. The owner talked to us personally and made us feel comfortable. I just wanted to meditate there and stay for a longer time. I recommend this place to all who wants to get away from the madding crowds of the city to find peace and tranquility. Iam from warm regions of India and just wished we had a powerful heater to warm the room otherwise everything was perfect.

Hands down the best place to stay in eastern Bhutan. During my 5 night stay, it was nice to be able to make day trips to many places in the east (Merak, Sektang, and Trashiyangste) and be able to come home to a comfortable bed each night. My suite was spacious and comfortable and the staff were helpful and always kind. The food was traditional Bhutanese food - and it was always superb. The landscaping surrounding the lodge is incredible and full of wildlife. Minjur Dorji and his wife, Deki, were gracious hosts and provided insight into tourism in the east and sites "not to be missed." Don't be afraid to get off the beaten path and travel in eastern Bhutan - and if you do - make sure Lingkhar Lodge is the place you stay!

A wonderful 5 day stay at Lingkhar. Once you are there you don't want to leave! The rooms are very comfortable with balconies over looking the valley and the paddy fields. The hotel is family run and thus the owners and staff are part of the community and can give you interesting insight into Trashigang and the rest of eastern Bhutan. Definitely the best hotel in eastern Bhutan!

My wife and I returned here after 7 years and the place is as enchanting as ever. Highly recommended. Lingkhar Lodge is simply the best place I know in Bhutan for anyone looking for a relaxing stay with all comfort while being in the middle of nature. The lodge is located in a forested valley full of birds, flowers, and butterflies. Quite unique! The suites are superb, with private balconies overseeing the valley and the few paddy fields in front of the hotel. The bed was beautifully made and comfortable; the bathroom was very well maintained, clean, and with all the amenities. The breakfasts, lunches and dinners were amazing, made with local products and often reinterpreting Bhutanese themes. If you have any questions, do ask if you can speak with the owners. They are extremely kind and helpful, and an incredible source of knowledge and stories about the region and the country at large. The little library at the reception is worth a look. And don't forget to enjoy your meal or a drink on the restaurant's beautiful terrace.

I stayed at the lodge because I was visiting the Sherubtse College for a week. I had a wonderful time. It offers a complete immersion in Bhutan's atmosphere with good food, excellent service, fantastic rooms, views and gardens. I could enjoy the mountains and the cycle of the weather in this period of the year where rainy nights give way to cloudy mornings to end with sunny days. The personnel is efficient and kindle. The host is an amazing person that gives an even brighter soul to the place. Definitely would go back there if sent again in this part of the country.

There is more to Bhutan than the tourist hotspots of the west. Be sure to include the lush, natural landscapes of the east for more relaxating portion of your journey. Minjur Dorji, former National Assembly member, Home Minister, and governor of the Trashigang district and his wife, Deki, have built a virtual paradise on her ancestral lands, the Lingkhar Lodge. The suites are spacious and comfortable, with balconies overlooking a valley alive with birdsong. The cuisine is traditional eastern Bhutanese, organic and local, much of it grown on their land. Minjur and Deki seem to know everyone and made it easy to visit the many local temples and monasteries, temples refecting a more unique and indigenous Buddhism than western Bhutan. Minjur arranged every detail of the trip with flexibility built in. Our intrepid and informative guide, Pema, and our capable and experienced driver, Yeshi, met us at Yongfula airport and accompanied us through our stay, including side trips to Merak and Trashiyangste. It was always a pleasure to return to the Lodge at the end of the day.

East Bhutan is one of the most surreal place I have ever visited and I have travelled across the entire Himalayan range. It's a beautiful combination of nature, history, culture and amazing Bhutanese people. While most tourism agents and travel companies will plan a trip to West Bhutan. Try ditching the trend and travel to East Bhutan, you will experience less crowded and beautiful landscapes. While you explore the eastern Bhutan, make Lingkhar Lodge your base and you can explore many beautiful places like Trashiyangtse, Mongar, Bumthang and more. I was travelling with my two other friends and we had a great time staying here. The food was amazing and rooms are clean and cozy with great view of the hills around. We loved spending time with Mr. Minjur who is the host. He possesses great knowledge about almost everything, from culture, countries, humanity and a lot more. Although it might seem a little difficult to find information about East Bhutan. All you have to do is contact Lingkhar Lodge and the host will sort out everything for you.
