The service attitude of the hotel is very poor, with a sense of inexplicable arrogance from grassroots waiters to managers. This may be related to the hotel's proximity to the monastery. These service industry scumbags probably consider themselves priests and nuns, and customers as foolish believers.

I had a meeting in Roscommon so checked in to the Abbey Hotel the night before. I arrive late but its 2mins walk from the train station so very convenient. The food in the lounge was very good and very welcome after the journey. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and the grounds are quiet and relaxing to stroll in. I enjoyed my stay.

Had a lovely night in the Abbey Hotel meeting up with friends. A very comfortable stay with excellent service all round. We had a delicious dinner with excellent service from the lovely Aisling. Room was spacious & comfortable. Will definitely be back...

Stayed here for one night, the room was huge with three beds. Breakfast was good and dinner was very nice. The highlight of our stay was definitely the pool, not too busy with sauna, steam room and a nice hot tub.

We recently had a meal for two in the beautiful hotel bar at 7pm in the evening. My chicken supreme (or something) was quite nice and very substantial, with a side dish of vegetables and potatoes included in the price. My husband is vegetarian and, more often than not, gets a bum deal in eateries. This time was no exception. He ordered a vegan /vegetarian steak which arrived with a minimal garnish of some sauce or other sprinkled with cress. There was also a little jug of a delicious looking sauce alongside. So no salad, no vegetables, no potatoes, just the steak. It was quite tasty, I'm told, but it had to be supplemented with a side of veg and potatoes which upped the price to €29.00. My meal came in at €22.50. See, the vegetarian starves every time! Lovely hotel, excellent staff, but vegetarians be warned...

Four of us stayed here last Thursday night, Service, food and rooms all were top class. Friendliest staff and we were looked after so well especially by Aisling in the dining room. Such a lovely mannered girl and so capable of serving a big group and also ourselves. Our meal was delicious also and the bar man later made some delicious cocktails for us. We will definetely be back!!

We had a beautiful break at this hotel, it's an ideal location for meeting up with friends and family. Great space to get together, dinner was delicious, the service in all areas made us feel right at home. I look forward to returning here as it's location is when looking for a central location for friends to meet.

Just back from a one night stay with 3 friends. Had a lovely relaxing time, beautiful bar area with plenty of comfortable seating. Dinner was delicious. Room was very spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. Lovely bathroom. Will definitely return.
