Guy and Sheila were very friendly and attentive hosts. Sheila's attention to detail is second to none! Our room was well decorated and very comfortable with a king size bed, power shower and bath with plentiful hot water. We particularly liked the downstairs sitting room with large squashy sofas and wood burner where we could retire to and warm up after returning from dinner at one of the many restaurants in nearby Ross on Wye. Sheila even brought us freshly cooked Apple Cake after our dinner as we'd missed out on tea earlier! Breakfasts were delicious and cooked by Guy who was as cheerful as Sheila. I opted for a comprehensive fruit salad and yogurt, followed by perfectly cooked eggs, mushrooms, bacon and homemade bread. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B in a lovely area close to Symond's Yat and Goodrich Castle.

We first stayed for three nights in early autumn last year and really liked it, so we decided to stay another three nights in early spring. Sheila and Guy made us feel very welcome again. Our second visit has been even better than the first, not least because we could enjoy the glorious spring weather and spring flowers in the garden during the day, as well as the cosiness of sitting by the fire in the lounge in the evenings. Sheila's little cakes were excellent, as were the breakfasts. A great place to stay.

This was our second visit, this time we returned with two other couples. Everything was just as we remembered, from the warm welcome from Guy and Sheila with tea and home made cake to the fantastic breakfast with many locally sourced ingredients and nothing too much trouble. The rooms are all beautifully furnished in period style with super comfy beds. We also all appreciated the cosy lounge with that amazing log burner. Lower Wythall is a wonderful place in a lovely location which rivals many 5* hotels, our friends enjoyed it so much we've rebooked for a pre Xmas meet up in December.

We have just enjoyed a few days at this beautiful historic house in a splendid location. Our hosts made every effort to make sure our stay was perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts and cakes were amazing. We were able to visit some great places nearby, for sightseeing and walking, such as Goodrich Castle, Symonds Yat and Hereford. We can't wait to return .

From arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Guy and Sheila. We were greeted with a freshly baked lemon drizzle cake (warm and yummy!) and afternoon tea served by Sheila outside this amazing 450 year old farmhouse. However despite its age Guy and Sheila have made the accommodation fit for the 21 st century. Our room had everything you could need including an amazing shower with a built in radio and bluetooth!! The TV even had apps for everything including Netflix. Wifi too everywhere - modernisation amidst rural bliss. Breakfast was prepared individually with I believe Guy doing the cooking. Of course local eggs and fresh home made bread for the toast. I am sure the marmalade and jams were homemade too. Shelia was the supplier of anything you wanted to know about the area and had a huge collection of maps guides and restaurant recommendations. As owning a B&B has been Shelia's ambition since childhood, this realisation has clearly been a massive success and her passion showed. We will be back to this idyllic haven and to get to know some more about this border area of the UK.

This was our first visit and it definitely lived up to the expectation set by earlier reviews. Extremely comfortable and well-equipped room (Foxwhelp but others are similarly-equipped) and excellent wifi coverage. The complementary cakes in the room were lovely and we were always offered tea and cake on our return in the afternoon. Another highlight was breakfast, which became a multi-course affair with home-made granola, greek yoghurt and fruit, followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice - I like the traditional bacon, eggs, mushroom and tomato but there was black pudding and potato cakes on offer too, plus toasted home-made bread. Others had the smoked salmon and said it was the best they had ever had - it's also locally-sourced. Everywhere was beautifully clean and it was also a remarkably peaceful location, with the only noise in the morning being the hushed twitter of the housemartins under the eaves and various other birds enjoying the garden. We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Lower Wythall B&B.

We have just spent 5 days staying at the beautiful B&B accommodation with Sheila & Guy. Everything about it was perfect from the very tastefully renovated house & comfy rooms to the delicious breakfast & cakes. Sheila & Guy were so friendly & welcoming & we were made to feel so at home . They made our anniversary trip very memorable. We will definitely be recommending Lower Wythall B&B to everyone back at home.

Another amazing stay at Lower Wythall. Such a fabulous building which has been lovingly restored by Sheila and Guy, and has so much character. They are amazing hosts with such attention to detail. The amazing breakfasts with locally sourced products. The home made cakes, bread, honey and yoghurt and all the other touches make this place really special. Thank you so much for making our stay once again so pleasantly relaxing and very enjoyable. Can't wait to return.

Have just had a wonderful weekend away at Lower Wythall; our second visit in recent years and it was so good to be back. Sheila and Guy spoil their guests with fabulous home cooking (breakfast by Guy) and baking (afternoon cake by Sheila) and they make it almost impossible to want to stay anywhere else as they are both so lovely! The house itself is an amazing place, full of character with a handful of spacious and luxurious rooms. The location is well placed for visiting many places within 30-60 minutes away (Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Ledbury, Hereford to name but a few and not forgetting Ross-on-Wye itself). Thank you for making our time away so special.
