A spacious and comfortable room with lovely sea view. We had a good breakfast in the outside bubble tent. The lady who welcomed us was warm, friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay right at the coast with wonderful views.

Although I thought that I had done my research well, we were disappointed from the moment we arrived. The room that I had booked turned out to not be en-suit and the bathroom was shared with another room,(occupied by a relative of the owner), and next door to the kitchen. We had booked this room for the views. 'Free parking' was actually on the road outside, not on the property. The owner offered us an 'up-grade' which was a smaller, gloomy room with no view, the window covered by a grubby net curtain. The bathroom had a blocked, painted glass door at one end with nowhere to place anything. Odds and ends of unsuitable furniture and bric-a-brac left little space, even for our wash bags. The one window looked onto the back yard and was not private at all. We felt very unsecure when using the bathroom. The bath was freestanding but against an untiled wall with water from the shower running down onto the floor. The chest of drawers in the corner could not be opened easily as the drawers were all stuck solid. The bedroom storage consisted of a small oak wardrobe that could not be opened fully and was too narrow to put up any clothes on hangers. The only seating was one hard oak elbow chair which blocked the wardrobe. All in all a very uncomfortable room. The paintwork throughout was was chipped and stained, the whole felt uncared for. Even worse was the door into the room which was also painted glass panels that let in the light at night time, the gaps under the door were also quite big. There was little privacy. Finally our room was only a few yards from the main road which proved to be extremely busy from 6.am until after midnight. Without any double glazing we had to purchase ear plugs in order to get some sleep.

We just stayed for one night with our two dogs. A lovely B&B, very friendly, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to Kilbroney Park and the local pubs. We ate in Crawfords which is dog friendly in the bar with the food from the attached Rostrevor Inn restaurant. Definitely recommend if you are visiting the area.

We stayed at the Oystercatcher for 2 nights for a wedding in Rostrevor. Our room was clean and comfortable with en suite facilities. No bath but very good shower. Breakfast can be paid for on arrival if not already included. It was substantial and tasty. Only point is no decaffeinated tea or coffee, otherwise home from home. Our hosts Pasqualina & Stefano were wonderful. So friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They really are the shining stars of this B&B. If I was in the area again I would definitely stay here.

I am just back from a few days mountain biking in the Mourne mountains with my son & we had the privilege of staying @ The Oystercatcher. We were also very fortunate to have had 3 glorious sunny, warm, dry days. This is without doubt the best guesthouse accommodation I have ever stayed in. The hosts simply welcomed us into their home & could not have be nicer, but not alone that, they are extremely professional. The rooms are delightful, immaculately cleaned & comfortable. The home cooked breakfast was delicious, especially the poached eggs. We also dined on 1 of the evenings & again the food was delicious & cooked to perfection. The views from every corner of the Oystercatcher are breathtaking. The location is perfect, for whatever your planning on doing if visiting the area. You can even go for a dip in the Irish sea, literally just across the road. Thanks to Pasqualina and Stefano for helping to make our short trip so memorable & enjoyable. We will be back as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic B&B. We loved the location and we were delighted by the elegant and cosy atmosphere of our room. The food is delicious and guests can use a charming raised terrace which has a stunning view of the lough and the Narnia-esque beauty of Rostrevor. Pasqualina and Stefano are wonderful hosts.

We have just returned from an overnight stay in the oystercatcher. I can't recommend this guesthouse highly enough. Spotless clean, comfortable and great food. The highlight of the stay was the host. Such a warm friendly person. She greeted us at the door as we arrived, showed us to our room and explained all At breakfast next morning she chatted away to us as if part of the family and made us feel really welcome, anything we needed was not a problem We will difinately stay here again when back in the area
