Carlton Park Hotel

Very standard. Not far from meadow Hall. Alot of facilities not open and door boarded up on the outside. Was just there for the boxing so did not spend long in hotel. Is good if you need somewhere cheap to crash

Shabby place.. perhaps going through a renovation but needs loads of work to get it up to a decent quality! The room stank of a musky smell, sink wouldn't drain.. bed was not comfy.. air fresheners everywhere which gave off a sickly smell and obviously covering up not wanted odour! Could be a much better place!!

Well priced, clean and free parking was just what we wanted. Pillows were a bit flat but we slept well. All staff very friendly and helpful.

The Carlton Park Hotel has definitely seen better days and is in much need of some TLC. The staff are very friendly and helpful but unfortunately the guests or possibly residents are somewhat diverse. Upon arrival in the afternoon there was a birthday celebration going on and there wasn't a sound to be heard but what a change when the early hours came and the noise wasn't from any of the party guests. Doors banging, shouting and someone either next door or above me snoring all night like an electric drill. Because of the party the bar wasn't open so a visit to the nearest Tesco Express not exactly what I was expecting as my past memories of the hotel were clouded. Free parking,clean bedding, a comfy bed, hot water and a soak in the bath helped but all in all I was very disappointed.

No way can I recommend this hotel to stay in . It’s shabby and run down . I was confronted by a drunk man who was just outside reception . He appeared to be living in the hotel and was aggressive and had wet himself . After confronting us he wandered back inside . The fire alarm went off 3 times on Sunday morning from 3am onwards . We were met in the corridor by a member of staff saying it was false alarms and there was no fire . No fire drill was carried out . It’s difficult enough to get a decent nights sleep as there are loud voices and doors banging all the time . I assume this is from people living there (we stayed 2nights). We didn’t feel safe at all . Couldn’t wait to leave

No hot water to shower left it running for 5 minutes and still was no hot water

Truly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have travelled all over the world! I felt very unsafe as a solo traveller! There was some very intimidating characters housed in the hotel! The room was riddled with damp and you could very obviously smell it. There was also fleas in the room! I did not sleep a wink as I felt very unsafe. The view out of my room was to a room with a window hanging off the hinges. The room is beyond out dated, it is made to look much more modern and welcoming by its pictures. Do not be fooled!

When we arrived the room was nice clean and tidy. Only 2 pillows on double bed whicb were flat. Would have been better with 2 pillows on each side of the bed as they were so flat. Was kept awake till around 2.30am with the squeeling of other guests in nearby rooms who kept running up and down the corridors. Bathroom and shower were brilliant

My partner and his son have been and had to leave to go to another hotel, never seen a more run down and dirty hotel, bed sheets mucky, bathroom run down and dirty, looks like mold on the walls, hostels are kept more up to date and cleaner than this hotel absolutely disgusted will not be returning
