The Ruby Hotel

I arrived at 1230a, exhausted from a late day of travel. The front lobby was locked up and dark. I called the main number and it promoted me to “text this number for after hour check in”. I texted over and over for 45 minutes and nobody answered. I ended up getting a room nearby. When I woke up, there was still no reply and they haven’t replied still. What kind of horrible place is this?!?

This is a nice little place with comfortable rooms. We had a small deck that overlooked Brushy Creek. They have a great bar that got extremely crowded while we were there due to the holiday parties going on, but other than that, it was very cozy with a fireplace, couches and good drinks. A short walk into town for lots of restaurant and bar choices.

Clean and good vibes! Simple but refreshing and a great one night stay! Bar and restaurant on site and not a bad thing to say.

Nice stay, nothing special, limited food options

This is a charming little boutique hotel located on Brushy Creek near the Chisholm Trail. It’s within walking distance to downtown Round Rock. The rooms are quirky and modern. They are very neatly kept. It’s a step off the beaten path, but it makes it very nice since no road noise can be heard. The balcony was nice. And overlooked the creek. You could watch ducks, geese, and kayakers pass by drinking your morning coffee. They have an in room espresso machine, but not a coffee maker. They also did not have a microwave in the room, but you could go to the fitness center and use the one in there. The bar was cute. All of the staff were extremely nice. We only had a couple of issues when we stayed… but neither of which was the hotel’s fault. We had very rude next door neighbors that decided to get rip roaring drunk and forget anyone else was staying at the hotel or might be trying to sleep. We alerted the hotel staff, and the issue was taken care of immediately. They were also very helpful with suggestions on local places to eat and visit. Very lovely place to stay.

This properties at an excellent location. The property design and facilities are nice. The properties a bit dated. The hot water failed so we’re unable to take hot showers. The facility was unresponsive and dealing with this issue, and they still have not responded to my request for conversations with management

No elevator to bring luggage upstairs, dirty cup in room, patio door lock was broken, bugs were swarming the patio, shower didn't get hot enough to take a shower. Not a good experience and definitely didn't feel like a 4 star hotel. Will not be back.

Joel, the evening front desk attendant needs to be fired immediately. Yes, we were outside after my sons wedding late into the evening and yes we had alcohol. Yes, we read the signs but we were not inside the bar or in the pool area for that’s what we thought the perimeter was according to the signage. Joel came charging outside screaming with his cell phone in his hand. Yelling we had 20 minutes to get to our rooms or he was calling the police, we would be thrown off the property and he would throw our luggage with us. We explained that we did not know we were breaking his rules. We explained we thought we were good since we were not in the mentioned areas. Joel’s attitude and rudeness was above and beyond anything I had experienced before. I recommend that my entire family book your hotel for my sons wedding. I am nothing but embarrassed since this incident seems to be the big talking point versus my sons beautiful wedding. Joel does not represent your hotel in a positive light but then none of your front staff does. You got it right on the bar and restaurant for both exceeded our expectations but your front desk staff is so sub par it’s sad ! I will never stay at your hotel again. I have lived in the Round Rock area for almost 30 years and have seen it grow. This experience with Joel will be told to every one of my friends in the Round Rock area as my review will be placed on Tablet, yelp, Google and any other place I can find to place a review
