The hotel is not close to the city center, but there are shuttle buses to Santa Claus Village and the city center every day. The environment is beautiful and the breakfast is rich. However, the most unsatisfactory thing is that there is no wifi in the room during the stay, and there is no wifi in the hotel lobby restaurant.

We booked a five-day trip to Lapland with various activities and stayed in a cabin with a panoramic window at the Vaattunkiwildernessresort. The location in the forest was very quiet, idyllic and romantic. You could go on lovely hikes directly from the resort. The restaurant and reception in a rustic log cabin were stylish and cozy. The food, meat and fish dishes, was delicious and varied. There were fresh salads, soup, biscuits and cakes for every meal. The cabin was functional, bright and decorated in a Nordic style. It was rather small and had little storage space. The bathroom was tiny, the sink too small to use. There was not enough hot water for two people to shower. It was a successful stay in beautiful surroundings, with some limitations in terms of comfort.

We loved our 3 days staying here in a panoramic hut. The huts were spacious, warm and cosy with a floor to ceiling window with a panoramic view of the forest. In winter it’s just a magical place. We ate most of our meals here and found them tasty and hearty. All meals are buffet style. Breakfast in particular was great. The resort is a long way from town and the shuttle bus only runs once a day. Activities are expensive but a great variety of. Worth doing.

I stayed in a panoramic hut with my 11 year old daughter. It was really magical. Very quick transfer from the airport. The beds were comfy and the room was toasty warm after being out in the cold. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate all meals there and found the food delicious and plentiful. Lots to do on site from snow shoeing, nature trails, husky sledging and reindeer ride. Thank you for making out stay so memorable.

Vaattunki Wilderness Resort was Stunning...better than we had hoped for & made our trip to Lapland, we're so so pleased we stayed here. We stayed in a panoramic hut which was great fun & very different. It was warm inside but not too warm. The floor to ceiling window overlooking the snow topped trees was breathtaking, we just sat & looked at it, it was so beautiful it didn't seem real. The grounds were unbelievable, long walks a stunning bridge over a half frozen river, lots of different trails to walk through, it's part of the Arctic hiking trails so lots to explore. It was so so quiet which is exactly what we wanted. We couldn't hear anyone in the other huts even although they are fairly close together. We read reviews about the restaurant before going which weren't too good however we ate there one night, it's a buffet style service & it was delicious....one of the most tasty meals i'd had in a long time...I'm still thinking about it it was so good! The hut was very clean apart from the bed, there were lots of hairs on the mattress which you could see through the bottom sheet so I removed them all & re-made the bed. A detail the cleaner could be made aware maybe as the rest of it was very clean. The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the lack of interest from the reception staff. We checked in late so knew we would pick up keys & let ourselves in but when we went for breakfast (which is also very good by the way) the reception staff almost ignored us. It wasn't until we were checking out that we saw all the brochures for all the activities with Safartica some of which we would have booked if we had known...it would be good if this was left in each hut. A shame the reception weren't very welcoming. The Safartica staff were very keen & helpful when we wanted to use the ski's. It would be nice to not blast dance music at 7am at breakfast....most people go to this kind of place far away from everything to have some peace & quiet. It seemed to be more for the kitchen staff than the guests but it ruined our breakfast a bit & we rushed eating to get away from the noise. Great that we can use the ski's & snow shoes for free as well as sleighs. Overall, the hut was amazing, the grounds/walks were amazing, the food was amazing and I'd definitely go back there & have already recommended it to friends.

This place is magical. Truly is absolutely beautifully breathtaking. Pictures and videos do not give it an ounce of justice. Me and my girlfriend went 18th of January 2024 and we came late because the plane was delayed by hours and the canteen was closed but the kind reception lady made us tea which was delicious. All the reception staff to the waitress was very very friendly, even though the English language wasn’t their native language, everyone spoke it perfectly. The cabin we stayed in (number 8) was very very nice, cosy and warm. The view from the window was just wow and the treks, lakes and bridges was amazing. We did a trek for 6hrs, everywhere was clear sign posted. We went to reception and got some fire starters and made a log fire that’s available in the resorts trek area (which was huge and stunning) In all, I loved every second at this place. The people working at the resort was superb and it offers lots of photographic beautiful scenery. We are so glad we chose this resort over the hotel we were considering in the Rovaniemi centre. Highly recommend and a huge thanks to everyone who made us feel welcomed and at home. Kindest regards from Nina and Adam

What a amazing place. Everything was perfection. The people are so nice. Good breakfast en dinner buffet. The huts are so cozy and the view to the forest is amazing. We did our excursions with Safartica. On the resort ther is also a Husky farm, unfortunataly those dogs are no Husky's. I askes the people if the dogs are full Alaskan Husky's an they say yes. But 100% they are a mix, or not even husky's. Thats was a bit bad.

My brother and I stayed in December 2023. We took a triple room with a private bathroom. When we arrive, the place seems warm and immersive in the Lappish nature, however disillusionment when opening our “room”. Room equivalent to a closet. Chalet shared with another person, our room overlooked the entrance part of the chalet which meant that the other guests left their shoes and clothes in front of our door. You will find the details below: - bed width ranging from 90 to 130 cm. We measured: 80cm for 6cm thickness. - cleaning not done daily except for an additional charge - no change of towels and when we asked for the first time; the receptionist wrote the room number on a piece of paper and when we returned in the evening nothing had been changed. The next day we were asked again at breakfast time (which was otherwise bland) and the same scene: room noted on a sheet which must have probably been thrown away afterwards, and we asked why we did not have a towel clean and finally we knew that the hotel only had the exact number of towels depending on the number of customers. - the bedroom windows do not open.. what to do in the event of a fire?? - dust in the room - dirty towel in the cupboard which dates from previous guests - exposed line for light - staircase to go up to the very steep mezzanine - half-loft mezzanine with the second bed with only 57 cm height above his head - bathroom which floods after 2 minutes And so on When we left, the receptionist asked me how the stay was, I said that I had known better and she said laugh ! IN BRIEF TO RUN AWAY!!

1. Refund Policy and Ethical Standards: Upon our arrival on December 24th on a 4 Am flight, it was evident that there were no auroras visible in the sky. As soon as we arrive we immediately approached the reception to request a refund for the "Aurora photo hunting tour." Unfortunately, we were informed by a receptionist who appeared to lack experience that a refund was not possible due to the 24-hour cancellation policy. I explained to her that other excursion providers had refunded my friend's money as they were well aware that December 24th was extremely cloudy, making it highly unlikely to witness the Northern Lights. Despite the efforts of Maria, who tried to negotiate with the management on our behalf, we were unsuccessful in obtaining a refund. This situation has left me questioning the ethical standards of Safartica management. 2. Receptionist Inexperience: I must express my disappointment with the level of professionalism demonstrated by the receptionists, Maria and Nea. It was evident that they lacked proper training in hotel management. Whenever we approached them with inquiries or requests, their responses were strictly limited to following protocol, often resulting in unhelpful and negative answers. 3. Double Standard: Another matter that has greatly disappointed me is the double standard concerning the punctuality of services. We had booked the snowmobile tour six months in advance, with a stated start time of 10 am and a meeting time of 8:45 am. However, due to miscommunication, we waited at our room, once received the call we rush to the reception area arrived at the reception mere two minutes missed the bus. When we requested that the bus be called back, we were met with a firm refusal, stating that they strictly adhere to the scheduled departure times. However, I couldn't help but notice that when it came to the shuttle service, which was supposed to depart at 5:15 pm on Dec 26, the departure was delayed until 5:38 pm. This inconsistency in their approach, coupled with the receptionists' tendency to argue with customers rather than offering a sincere apology, demonstrates a lack of professionalism. 4. Lack of Attention to Detail: I would like to highlight a specific incident that exemplifies the lack of attention to detail at the resort. When the bus left without us, the receptionist called a cab for us. Unfortunately, the taxi driver dropped us off at Lapland Safari instead of Safartica. This miscommunication caused us great frustration and inconvenience, as we had to walk back to Safartica. 5. Overall Resort Experience: Finally, I must express my disappointment with the overall experience at Vaatunki Wilderness Resort. The term "resort" implies a certain level of service and professionalism that I did not witness during my stay. The staff members require better training, and the management should prioritize customer satisfaction over financial gains. In my opinion, the resort can be best described as a basic cabin-like ho
