Smith and Western

We booked the hotel for Friday night, the room was lovely and big , great themed decor, very comfy bed. The restaurant was great we had evening meal and breakfast both very nice. Staff were great, really helpful and absolutely banging tunes !. Would definitely recommend

Lovely themed place, we did an evening event on the Spa Valley Railway and wS 2 minutes walk, no worries about parking. Food was great both meals in restaurant and breakfast. If you suffer with being hot, suggest you use the supplied fan

Excellent quality at a reasonable price. The Western-themed decor was great fun. It was really clean and well-kept. The comfy bed with lovely, clean, and crisp bedding was fabulous. The excellent and clean en-suite bathroom had a big walk-in shower—powerful and lots of hot water. Generous refreshments were provided, and everything worked! I was very impressed. Would definitely stay again. Yeeehaaaa.

Staff who looked after us were extremely good and helpful would stay here again.

Finally met up with family for a Christmas dinner, first time at their Tunbridge restaurant, chosen as it was roughly equal distance away for each of us. To start, drinks ordered, two of our party ordered a bottle of Shiraz, after a wait, they were eventually told they had no red wine at all, ok, we'll have a bottle of rosé then, came back with a bottle of white wine, then third time lucky, the rosé arrived, but we were also charged for the bottle of shiraz we didn't get. Glasses of drink arrived that weren't asked for, and advised they were from another table, but weren't wanted by them, in light of covid, probably not the greatest idea to give guests items from other peoples tables. Food, not great: a medium rare fillet steak - arrived well done and covered in peppercorns. Asked for home fries instead of mash, but still arrived with mash. Home fries on another order were undercooked and hard. Childs macaroni cheese, arrived as plain macaroni with a tiny bit of cheese grated on top. Desserts: the fruit in the berry sundaes was still frozen solid, another dessert arrived that wasn't ordered. We've been to various Smith and Western restaurants, and have always been very happy, but this was a big let down for us, a lot of money for a less than average experience.

Great room with much attention to both themed and domestic detail. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was very good value too.

It’s very quirky and the theme is continuous. The rooms and bathroom are very comfortable and clean. Parking is easy & free for hotel guests. Every single member of staff we spoke to, whether bar, waiting staff, Manager and the cleaning ladies were absolutely lovely and very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay again. The included breakfast is delicious too!

Unexpectedly brilliant! First and foremost the service from all staff was superb. We ended up having dinner there which we hadn’t planned to do and it was good American style food! Breakfast was lovely. Room was great - plenty of room, coffee machine, good shower and immaculately clean. Brilliant theming throughout the bar and hotel. Two things to be aware of - the rooms are above the bar so you can here the music but that goes off at 11 so that was no problem for us as we were out, and the bed was a standard double which may be an issue for some. Overall a resounding 10/10 .
