This place is quite far away and not easy to get to the city centre, wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't have a car

Good location to Chester and Manchester if you drive. Perfect for a stop if you plan to drive from north to south or south to north and make a stop in here to take a break.

Stayed at this hotel for a night. The location is nice up on the hill and surrounded by greenery. Service was excellent at the front desk and the restaurant. I like the breakfast a lot with food served at the right temperature. Variety is adequate. It is however a different story inside the rooms.
One room has the floor lamp not working at all and curtains hanging without the hooks. The shower head was dripping in another room. Dust was all around the outlets of the air-conditioning unit and inside the lamp shades.
The shower is so poorly designed that one cannot keep the bathroom floor dry at all after taking a shower. The rotten wood at the bottom of the bathroom door should give some hints.
There are not many hotel choices in Runcorn. If the cleanliness can be improved this would be a very nice hotel.

second year for our annual event, absolutely fantastic service , beyond anything you would expect. Angie the manageress could not do enough and all the staff were superb. Room clean, breakfast worth every penny. Had some guests from the USA who were blown away by the level of service given, Can't reccomend highly enough

The hotel was very pleasant. Rooms were very clean. The bar area was very inviting and the food was lovely. It was nice to have facilities such as the gym and swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and polite, in particular the breakfast waiter Phil. Who went out of his to make us feel welcome and gave us places to visit while we were there.

The hotel is nice and the staff are friendly. We were there for an event which was well managed and catered, and we decided to book a couple of rooms to make it easy to get ready and so we could enjoy the evening and not worry about driving.
We did book 2 twin rooms as we are a family of 4 and there were no options for us all in a room together. I did then request adjoining rooms over email and this was accepted, but when we arrived we were told it now wasn't possible, so we had a room between us, which was a bit annoying as they could have said in the email if it wasn't possible. I didn't think anyone was in that room though - we didn't hear anyone at all which is even more odd! If it is because we booked twin rooms and they don't adjoin, I would have been happy to swap one to a double, but nothing was offered...
Anyway, we did end up putting the kids in their own room and it all worked out in the end. We briefly used to pool which was nice. We also had breakfast which was good - standard buffet but not so busy as to require queuing and good times of availability (until 10.30am).
