This place is quite far away and not easy to get to the city centre, wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't have a car

Good location to Chester and Manchester if you drive. Perfect for a stop if you plan to drive from north to south or south to north and make a stop in here to take a break.

Stayed at this hotel for a night. The location is nice up on the hill and surrounded by greenery. Service was excellent at the front desk and the restaurant. I like the breakfast a lot with food served at the right temperature. Variety is adequate. It is however a different story inside the rooms. One room has the floor lamp not working at all and curtains hanging without the hooks. The shower head was dripping in another room. Dust was all around the outlets of the air-conditioning unit and inside the lamp shades. The shower is so poorly designed that one cannot keep the bathroom floor dry at all after taking a shower. The rotten wood at the bottom of the bathroom door should give some hints. There are not many hotel choices in Runcorn. If the cleanliness can be improved this would be a very nice hotel.

We had a easy check in fairly late in the day after a long drive, the staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was fine, abit small when the sofa bed is out but we expect that. Hotel was comfortable to be in, the bar area was comfortable too as we like to play games as a family.

Having stayed at this hotel previously, it was a surprise to me to notice things have seriously deteriorated. The hotel staff seemed to present as professional as ever. They were very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The rooms are still really small, but I was aware of this from my previous stay. However, that said lots of things are not the same. They no longer have executive rooms, and every room is now classed as standard. So, in essence, no more upgrades. They no longer have mini bars. All were taken out, no more security safes, no more complimentary bottled water, or chocolate, no more bathroom robes. It was rather sad. I noticed that the television in my room was not adapted for subtitles. This function may also apply to other televisions, I don't know, but as a deaf client, I am familiar with the functionability of such setting, and it definitely was not available on my television. The other things I noticed was the broken lift, only one working was the staff lift but could not find it, the building was shabby, badly needs decorating in the corridors and the rooms are very dated and worn. The biggest gripe I had with my room personally was the shower was not working correctly, it dropped pressure every 2 seconds and go off completely and then return, whilst at the same time dropping temperature from hot to cold. Something seriously wrong. A big disappointment. I did, however, notice the reception areas, bar, and restaurant was very well presented, airy and fresh looking. The breakfast was exceptional. This has definitely improved since my last stay. Phil, the waiter was still here 15 years later, Well done, he's an asset to this hotel. Upon check out, I informed reception of my disappointing stay. I was advised that a generous amount of IHG reward points would be deposited onto my account as a means of apology, a sincere gesture due to the disappointment of the room. I am really disappointed that even this NEVER happened either. This raises concerns to me that even the trust seems to have elapsed at this rundown establishment. Would I return again 🤔 the jury's out.
