Being a thoughtful gentle***, i often feel the need for a pleasing vista from where i can stare across the horizon with a glass of Whiskey, watching the sun set, imagining poets of the past singing and armies marching. This particular need of mine was fulfilled this January at Bharatgarh Fort. I felt a sort of comfortable numbness that hinted that I was either in 2024 or 1783 or (Likely) somewhere in between. This is the kind of place where a fishing trip with the boys can become a fever dream wrapped in a vision quest and presented in a Chanel handbag. History and style merge together, ***ifesting themselves in 3 meter thick Ramparts and ice cold Vodkas. Sometimes a Barbeque pops up and makes its appearence. At others, a rustic Tandoor takes its place, reminding one that the past and present cohabit this place. Physicists theorise of a space-time continuum. But Physicists are famous ******. They shoulkd talk less and just come here.

Que ce soit pour les humains, les sites ou les hôtels, ce ne sont pas toujours les plus tape à l'oeil (flashy) qui sont les plus "riches". C'est le cas du Bharat Gar Fort. Derrière ces vielles murailles décrépies se cache un trésor. Un accueil chaleureux, un calme reposant, un confort très agréable. On retrouve ici le charme et l'authenticité de certains palais du Rajasthan: l'impression de faire un bon dans le temps, tout en bénéficiant de la modernité des équipements. La chambre est spacieuse et propre. Le linge est propre. La salle de bain avec douche est moderne et fonctionnelle. Les placards sentent bons. Téléviseur à écran plat, ventilateur, air conditionné, frigidaire. Bouilloire, thé, café, sucre, eau filtrée à disposition. Wifi gratuite et rapide. A côté de la chambre un grand salon avec portraits de la famille royale. De l'arrivée au départ, ***jeet, l'intendant prend soin de vous avec gentillesse et discrétion. Les repas complets sont très abordables (5,50€ par personnes) Ils sont préparés par le jeune Bholu qui est un excellent cuisinier: salade de concombre, tomates et oignons, riz, dhal, curry de racine de taro, kadai paneer et chapati chauds, le tout sans piment et sans poivre, délicieux riz au lait en dessert. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux: assiette de fruits frais, curd, roti, poha, omelette massala, thé, café et délicieux gâteaux de la maîtresse de maison. Tout est fait maison avec des produits du village. Possibilité de visiter le village avec ***jeet: une plongée dans l'Inde authentique loin des catalogues. Des habitants très chaleureux, qui apprécient que l'on s'intéresse à eux. On y passerait des heures. C'est un endroit où nous recom***dons de rester plusieurs jours, pour vivre l'Inde autrement. Beautiful, peaceful place in Sylvan surroundings. Loved the way modern amenities have been provided without compromising the original architecture. The hostess is friendly and very responsive to the guests’ needs. Her team too deserves kudos!

Looking for a nice place to rest on our way to ***ali then ***, we found this beautiful hotel. Driving from Delhi is tedious, but you can easily fly to Chandigahr, then a quick trip to this very nice heritage hotel. The hosts are absolutely charming and although we were the only guests we never felt alone. The Punjabi food is excellent and recommended. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, the bathroom is modern. The stairs are tricky for the disabled but don't expect a lift in this old fortress. December is already crisp to cold. Good practice for ******. Walk around the fort are beautiful and the village with the Sikh temple is very varied. Only to recommend.

We visited the Bharatgarh Fort with friends for an afternoon and lunch. Hosts Deepinder Singh and his wife were ultra-gracious in touring us through the fort and serving a delicious lunch. This is an ancient fort that has been in their family for ***y generations. It is decorated with historical stuff. The sitting area where they served drinks was the old armory powder storage room - the walls are several feet thick! The roof top observation area provides wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We recommend that you add a stop at this fort for a night or more to your visit to north India.

Our recent stay of couple of days at Bharatgarh Fort with family and friends was fabulous.Perfect location to visit the Cultural heritage centre of Punjab ;Great location ;Very Nice ambience ,has fantastic old time charm ;family friendly superb service ; courteous and polite staff. Served great meals.The ***agement was delightful and went over and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Gorgeous and excellent property. Highly recommend to visit. Jasvinder kaur We spent two blissful days at this beautiful historical fort probably only one of its kind in Punjab. It brought back memories of ones early life like the sound of the train whistling by, the lush green fields and sounds of nature. There was excellent home cooked food. The room had been beautifully done to the minutest details of comfort ***** with keeping the heritage norms. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants the most amazing experience.

Bharatgarh Fort Sardar Deepinder Singh Virk Esq; and Mrs ***inder Kaur fully extended their warmth to my Swedish family (of seven) 26-29 Dec 2022 during our visit to their beautiful and unique property Bharatgarh Fort. The host family included their young son Gauhar. The lineage, ancestry and deep routed culture of the Virk family cleared showed in their superb and expressive hospitality; they and their staff left no stone unturned to make us feel completely at home and comfortable during these wonderful days in Fabulous Punjab. The cuisine was sumptuous, every curated dish garnished with the freshness from their kitchen garden. With their own cattle 🐄 the diary products and deserts were wonderful! Deepinder so meticulously arranged our excursions to Anandpur Sahib Gurdwara, the stunning museum Virasat i Khalsa and visiting the nearby village, meeting the Sarpanch Sahib and his family, all highlighted these as unique experiences for my family. The rich culture of Punjab and preservation of historical forts continues in its enrichment, thanks to families like the Virks. We will always remember the beautiful time here at Bharatgarh Fort ( my young grandchildren will have ***y stories to relate to their school friends). A Huge THANK YOU!! A part of the Fort has been very thoughtfully and lovingly restored as a homestay for travellers who wish to taste a slice of history, while enjoying the fabulous view of the lush green fields and the Sivalik foothills. The grandeur of the breath-taking landscape matches the delicious cuisine which is fresh and authentic. The rooms are extremely comfortable with ancestral heritage and elegant furniture. The photographs on the site don’t do the homestay enough justice. The gracious hosts will go out of their way to make you feel at home and make your stay truly memorable with personalized hospitality. The splendour and the magnificence of the ambience is only outweighed by the majesty and graciousness of their hearts. A gem of a place and a real find whenever you need an invigorating break.
