The owner was extremely friendly and the breakfast was hat and plenty of it. Our room was clean and the bathroom was clean. All facilities were waiting for us. Would go again if required

What a place! The staff are friendly and very intesting. The B&B itself a treasure trove of interesting items and story's to be told. The bar was well stocked and there was plenty to choose from. We stayed in a double room which was very cozy and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very modern, a pleasant surprise for such a historic building. If you're looking for a hidden gem, this is it. Will definitely visit again

Great location for day trips out. Our room was clean and comfortable. Lovely big bed. We enjoyed a couple of evenings talking with our host Audrey downstairs in the bar. There's a good choice for breakfast which is presented beautifully. Very tasty too!

We stayed for two nights at Melody House having looked for somewhere near the Norfolk coast, but not wanting to be actually at the coast at the height of summer. Melody House was absolutely lovely. Yes, it’s a little quaint, but that makes it all the more home homely. Audrey and Chris are delightful and rightly proud of their history and the furniture and furnishings at Melody House reflects it beautifully. Melody House is spotless, very comfortable with everything you could need in the bedroom and en-suite. Including, lovely quilts, and big soft towels and toiletries to mention a few. Breakfast is first class with beautiful fruit salad and fresh cooked breakfast that was second to none. The bar was open in the evenings and we thoroughly enjoyed having a drink with Chris and Audrey who made us feel very much at home. We would recommend Melody House to anyone and happily return again in the future.

So was not the welcome we had foreseen , rather abrupt rude lady answered the door . I’ve been waiting for you I’ve got a prescription to collect from the chemist , rather taken back we commented well on a previous call we had stated it would be after 2.00 pm . Then we were told the booking is only for 1 adult ? So we bought the booking up on my phone where it clearly stated 2 adults , the proprietor then said she will phone her son who is out all day , she returned to us explaining it was a mistake on the guest house side . The parking is down a narrow road by the side of the chip shop you cannot view your car parked from the guest house . Anyway we were then taken to room 3 , nice en-suite , pleasant decor , milk in fridge for tea and coffee , no use by date on it , no label could it be skimmed / semi / or ?? . The bed in this room is very very low to the floor , if you are of senior age this is not practical at all. Light bulb on one of the wall lamps blown , needs replacing . Breakfast was excellent, if you would like to return to pre war era this is the place to stay , not modern old fashioned , 1940s music playing at breakfast . Very cluttered with ornaments etc . Noticed by front door loads of clean laundry bags that had been delivered but not packed away left at guest house entrance . Won’t be returning.

Nice furniture but dusty, dirty jacuzzi bath ! Black scum coming out of jets unacceptable! Owner rude on arrival asking us not to wear her carpets out ! No key to lock our room when we went out, lack of empathy when reporting the bath problem ! Tea tray poor bare minimum tea coffee milk sugar ! For the price you would expect a biscuit! 1 good point breakfast was good. The woman who owns it needs to have better people skills .

Quirky, friendly, clean and welcoming. Should have opted to stay and have a supper cooked by Audrey - pub in Fakenham was awful! Bar was great , and so friendly. Had to leave very early in the morning (0500) so mixed the breakfast which I am certain would have been great.
