Upon arrival just approaching the gates you get the feeling this is a special place. Paul and Alan are so welcoming. Any information you need where to visit or eat they have all the knowledge. Saltcote place is a beautiful house with exceptional maintained grounds and views. The breakfast is exceptional. Great choice of everything you could possibly want and cooked to a high standard. The presentation of food is exceptional and the glass of fizz to accompany the breakfast is a lovely special touch. They really are very special hosts and make sure your stay is an unforgettable one. Our room was lovely and bed extremely comfortable The bath is a luxury to relax in. The fruit bowl and flowers is a lovely touch in the room and the night cap was so very appreciated. Thank you. This is an unforgettable place and a place we will never forget and mum enjoyed her stay for 2 nights for her 70th birthday very much.Love Victoria and Lynn. X

This is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay in easy reach of historic and charming Rye town centre (7-8 mins walk) and an extensive sandy beach and dunes at Camber Sands. The house combines elegant neoclassical proportions with all the comfort of having been built relatively recently in 1905 - en suite bathrooms and excellent plumbing with plenty of hot water - and has been carefully restored and decorated. There is a superb view from the veranda over the formal garden down to the sea. The hosts were extremely kind and thoughtful, taking time to understand the particular needs of our party (two elderly relatives) and making us feel extremely welcome and well looked-after. Many thanks for a lovely and memorable stay.

Magnificent experience. Such a warm and friendly welcome from Paul and Alan. Beautiful setting, so photogenic! The best B&B we have ever been to! Delicious breakfast, lovely room, easy parking, nothing too much trouble! In great location too. Easy to walk into Rye, a fantastic and memorable town.

The hosts were amazing - so welcoming, professional and seeking to provide an incredible service - which they managed with ease. The location has far reaching views and is the height of luxury. We hope to go back soon because they made us so welcome and really got to know us!

We chose to stay for the weekend at Saltcote Place based on the many good reviews, and because they offer parking. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and the views are stunning. It is an easy 10 minute walk into Rye, and to many good eating places. As everyone else has said, Paul and Alan are kind and attentive hosts. Breakfast was 5 star. We would happily return.

Had a wonderful weekend at Saltcote Place to celebrate Mother’s Day. Both Paul and Alan were very attentive and amusing hosts whose attention to detail was second to none. The breakfasts were beautifully presented and delicious. Those interested in style and antiques would really appreciate this beautiful venue.

We have just experienced a fabulous 2 night stay in the beautiful Saltcote Place, this was a treat for my Birthday and we were overwhelmed by the property itself, the location, just everything about this beautiful house, but I have to say, Paul & Alan are without doubt the BEST hosts we have had the pleasure to meet, nothing was too much trouble, spectacularly entertaining :) a very special stay, thank you both so much for making our stay so magical! Absolutely a five-star experience. This is a wonderful tranquil setting and haven of good taste with genial hosts, Paul and Alan, offering a unique and person-centred experience. Within just a ten-minute walk to Rye, Saltcote Place really is the perfect location! Beautifully decorated, the house exudes a feeling of controlled and carefully orchestrated wellbeing, without ever feeling unnatural or overly fussy. The English country house good looks are matched by the surrounding gardens and picturesque views of Romney Marsh. We stayed in the spacious Military Room, which was tastefully decorated, with the furnishings being of an exceptionally high standard. Bed and pillows comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with super soft large towels, a luxury stand-alone bath and separate water-fall shower. The breakfast exceeded expectations; almost all products are from local suppliers, portions plentiful and hot food cooked to perfection - utterly delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and Paul and Alan’s attention to detail outstanding. If you are looking for something special, look no further as a warm welcome awaits. This is far more than a hotel/B&B experience and more akin to staying with wonderful friends.
