Rooms were okay however they smelled like a fried food all the time and the room had a musty smell. Wouldn’t stay if staying for more than a night. Fire alarm also randomly started going off at 1am and all of us had to be evacuated and there was no reason fire hazard apparently.

Stayed for 1 night as a solo trip. It's a nice old pub and the room was cosy. It's in the centre of rye. There was biscuits and tea there too. The shower and bath were really good and the TV was already set up with the channels so no issues there. I'll stay again

Sunday roast was amazing, along with the wine tasting menus. Our room was cosy (and very dog friendly - welcome treats and a toy!) Jon and Charlie (and the rest of the team) were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. We can’t wait to visit again!

Stayed for 1 night over Easter. Had Chardonnay room which is larger than the others. Very nice bed and utilities. Very dog friendly as comes with welcome pack - food, bowl, treats, ball. Great Sunday roast in the restaurant / bar area and breakfast. Shout out to Charlie who entertained us on the Sunday evening as the bar was closing and we had a couple of drinks before retiring. Town is lovely place, though for an Easter weekend the town did seem to die down rapidly from about 8pm. Old Bell Rye another good dog friendly pub.

Excellent friendly service from all staff, the roast dinner we had was beautiful & we enjoyed our lunch there so very much. We also had desert & I can honestly say the seasonal crumble with custard was the best crumble I have ever tasted. The chap who looked after us was incredibly good at his job, could not of been better. We had roast beef & the quality of the meal was fantastic. There is also a fantastic range of lagers, ales & wine to choose from.

Very spacious and comfortable room. Good choice of tasty breakfasts.
Customer service needs improvement, e.g. when I politely asked a member of staff to remove Chris**as decorations from a staircase handrail, explaining that I needed to use the handrail because of poor eyesight, a day later (when we departed), this had not been actioned.

Went for lunch. The scallop starter was tasty, but the portion was small and expensive.Main fish course was better. Staff were helpful and attentive. It was lovely to sit by the open fire and sip wine. Overall, it was a pleasant but slightly expensive lunch visit. However, there were value offers on the menu that I could have selected. I will surely return

Possibly the best roast dinner I've ever had. Lovely ambience, lovely staff and food was top notch! Beef was cooked to perfection, potatoes crispy. I would 100% recommend coming here. Didn't have pudding as we were do full, but they looked great!
