Hedgefield House

I have used this lovely little place several times, I live out of the area but stay regularly to help with early morning appointments for my dad. David is a lovely host always quick responding to email enquiries, the rooms are comfy, well stocked and most of all very clean. Forgot the big hotels, choose this beautiful house in lovely grounds set back from the busy road and enjoy a peaceful night in comfy surroundings.

I stayed for 4 nights and found staying at the Hedgefield to be a very pleasureble experience . Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, very quiet, lovely gardens, comfortable beds. In a perfect location a real little hidden gem, close by you had a restaurant, a little further walk you had a pub that also sold food, you could even walk to the local shops. Car not necessary, bus stop right outside to visit Metrocentre and Newcastle centre. Owner David was on hand if you needed anything. I certainly have no hesiatation in recommending the Hedgefield and will be returning with my wife for a chilled break.

Spent a weekend at this outstanding hotel, on arrival was greeted by David who kindly showed us to our room, which was well; spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, has all you need for your stay including a large flat screen TV. I must say I personally think the hotel could charge more for the standard of the rooms

Great stay. Have stayed a couple of times before. Great for a weekend away

Upon arrival, charged an additional £30 on top of what was already booked and paid. Room did not have bathroom attached, had to walk down hallway past other rooms. Room was small and cluttered with useless furniture with literally nowhere to put suitcase. Window open (November) so room was cold. No way of adjusting heating in the room for personal preference. Was on full blast (by my bed head) during the night, but off during the day, so room was freezing cold during the day time. Had to ask for additional toiletries, coffee supplies as was told there was no service during the stay. Rooms are not cleaned or serviced. Ran out of toilet paper in bathroom. Seemed stingy and poor.

I’ve stayed at the Headgefield many times and always had a good stay .Hosts are always very friendly . If you don’t drive good bus services to Town and Metro Centre . A stunning house with beautiful gardens

A remarkably beautiful and cosy hotel

A nice, quiet location with first-class service and facilities. Rooms and toilets were immaculate when I arrived, and it felt homely which exceeded my expectations. Only two minor downsides - location (which doesn't really matter if you're driving, but I was hiking/ walked from the train station), and the bathroom is not located in your room (it was directly opposite my room, whcih meant I had to step into the corridor first) though it is still an en-suite/ private one.
