The hotel is good, but our room was on the first floor with not the best view. There were problems with the administration due to the fact that they forgot to pick us up at the reception for a full-day safari ((we stood at the reception for two hours and lost the opportunity to see the morning promenade of animals

Everything was seamless and comfortable. Staff were helpful every step of the way. The safari tour was incredible. We were there with 50 friends and everything went smoothly which was testament to the hospitality flexibility and understanding of staff.

We had a great stay in one of their chalets. We opted out of the all inclusive option and instead had the breakfast buffet each morning and ate at the pool restaurant for dinner each night. We booked all of our safaris through SANPark and they picked us up right at the hotel which was very nice! Each morning we went on a morning safari then came back and had breakfast, took a nap, spent the afternoon at the pool/gym/mini golf, then went on an evening or night safari. One night we saw two hippos and a water buffalo as we were eating dinner. The chalet was great and had a cabin feel to it with a fully stocked kitchen but we never used it. The beds and pillows were VERY comfortable and the AC worked great. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only thing is we all got the runs and we think it might be from all of the tap water we drank so I would just be conscience of that and maybe stick to bottled water.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel was great and provided a complimentary bottle of non-alcoholic champagne to celebrate. We booked 2x safaris through the hotel which were phenomenal. I only wish there was a bit more direction on the evening safari. Additionally, dinner was buffet style with everyone at night. It would be nice to have a different option. Other than that, the food was great and housekeeping service was perfect. We would recommend for a budget safari experience!

Great stay.Rooms comfortable and Clean .Service very Good. Food was excellent and beer cold . Would stay there again . This was our thirrd time there. Good location on border of Kruger!!!!!!!!!!!! Staff were very friendly and helpful to everyone

The resort being right by the main entrance to Kruger National Park makes it a great spot to book safari tours of the park.
Dining was fine, but would benefit from more selections à la carte.

The Kruger gate hotel is a lovely hotel with a lot of character. It is pleasantly set up so you feel close to nature (elevated platform outside as corridor to rooms and restaurant, with thatched roofs). The service was excellent and food was equally and consistently great! We stayed in the family delux bedroom full board, inclusive of 3 safari half-day trips. A special mention goes to Elvis and Sarah. Elvis our safari guide on 2/3 of the safaris was excellent and catered to our needs. He didn’t rush and made sure we had a great safari experience (he managed to get us to see the big 5 on our first day!). He was our good luck charm. Sarah, the client manager, was very professional and patient with us. She catered to our needs and answered all our questions. Despite our great experience with the hotel, I am giving it a 4 out of 5 because the room was a bit basic and outdated and was far off what was represented on the website when you book. So an area for improvement! It could do with some more colour, painter refresher and more decoration. The bathroom could do with renovating and modernising.

Our group was 21 people. Safari vehicles are 10 people per vehicle. They insisted we pay for 3rd vehicle for 1 person. Then the morning of the safari 4 people were sick and could not attend the safari so our total was 17. The hotel sent the 3rd empty vehicle behind the 2d vehicle. What a waste!!
