The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area was great - easy to walk to restaurants, Target, shopping. Our room had luke warm water - they tried to fix it, but it wasn't much better. Our friends also had luke warm water. They said because the hotel was busy there wasn't enough hot water. There was also a stain on our comforter, like soda spilled.

Room smelled like smoke, elevators could have been cleaned more often especially when there was high traffic. Rooms aren’t insulated enough from noise in the hallway. This wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but we had noisy neighbors that were partying in their room that kept us up two nights in a row. Luckily they were pre partying and left to go hit the clubs/bar or something. But they were noisy, waking me up, when they came back 2-3am.

A few things contributed to our 3-star review. First, when we checked in we were given a parking slip for the garage next door, but weren’t told it was $25. We could have parked there ourselves for a maximum of $24, so shame on Marriott for adding to the cost. Second, instead of feather pillows they have foam pillows, a definite negative. Third, the shower never provided more than lukewarm water. The bath towels were great and the breakfast good. The location is great.

On the positive side the location is great for the convention center or visiting the capitol. The staff was friendly. The rooms are spacious as it is a Residence Inn. But mostly I thought it needed improvements. First off the showers are really cold in the morning. Everyone was complaining about this. If you showered at a different time it was ok, but if you’re there for business and for places to go, don’t expect a warm shower. It could’ve been cleaner. There was no soap in the shower when I arrived - of course I was already in the shower when I figured out the bottle was empty. I asked the front desk and they sent up soap, but this seems like something standard that should be checked before guests arrive. If I had a choice I would pick another hotel in the area.

The hotel rooms are nice, but freezing cold showers are not so nice. I was visiting for a work conference, and I didn’t have a choice when it came to showering. I have never been so cold in my life! Of course, we told the front desk. Unfortunately, now, when reading other reviews that are not brand new, I learned that this is not a new problem. How Marriott can get away with making people and businesses pay these rates for rooms that don’t have hot water is beyond me. A warning would have been nice!
